What the hell is desert bus? I now need to know.

It's part of the Child's Play fundraising effort. Essentially, money is raised to buy games and game systems for critically ill children in hospitals so that they have something to take their minds off the diseases they have. It was started by the Penny Arcade guys. Desert Bus is a game that was part of the Penn and Teller: Smoke and Mirrors unreleased game package. In it, you drive a bus through the desert from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas Nevada in real time, taking 8 hours. For this, you get a single point. You then get the option to drive the Bus back to Tucson, Arizona, again in real time, for another point, and so on. It is supposed to be one of the most boring games, if not THE most boring game, in existence.

Desert Bus for Hope has the Loading, Ready Run crew driving the Bus for 24 continuous hours at a time (excepting only bathroom breaks) while they do skits and take challenges for money to raise money for the charity. In addition, Tally hosts a "Craft Along" and donated items are auctioned off for money. Many of the donated items are games and/or game paraphenalia, but also comics, comics stuff, and game-related items that are auctioned in real time for money.
