I thought the story was going to be, "Asshole Air loses Terrier, buys ferret and tries to pass that off to the dog's owners". Somehow, the truth is even more silly.
Asshole air and the actual airline that lost the dog in the first place isn't that far from the truth (I hate flying with the actual airline in this story).
From what I read of the whole thing, the dog crate was zip strapped shut and had instructions to only open the crate in an enclosed room but some cargo handler knew better apparently.

Renting a pump in the duck blind is pretty much the same thing as digging for taint where I come from.
