My younger siblings make me feel old. Their slang is completely different from my slang. I mean there's only a 7 and 9 years difference between our ages. Holy shit, I'm nearly a decade oldr than my sister? Fuck, I can feel myself age. I need a drink.

So you're... 16? You're a year younger than me, and I'm actually looking forward to being a little bit older. How the hell do you feel old? :D
17, so we're the same age. And not so much feeling old as I'm realizing that my childhood has just ended. And I have pretty much nothing to show for it. Boo hoo!

My first computer had one COLOR....GREEN...any "graphics" had to be made up of the standard keyboard letters, numbers & symbols.

I remember we were AMAZED because Pitfall Harry had LEGS...we were no longer RECTANGLES! AMAZING!!!

I was in my teens when I saw the Space Shuttle Challenger explode on live TV.

I used to take dates to the drive-in to make out.

Was there any moment that stopped you in your tracks and forced you to look at your old withering form? Here I was minding my own business when I realized that there are people who use these forums now that are younger than the N64... holy shit, I couldn't wrap my head around this concept. It's easy to feel like time exists in a vacuum until things hit close to home like that. Gives perspective to the whole aging thing.

So yeah, I've been told 23's a good age but never really felt like I had aged at all in the last few years until just the other day. Has this happened to anyone of you?

Also, sorry if the whole "kids here are younger than the N64" thing caught any of you off-guard and triggered this phenomenon. I feel you bro.

... Oh, and The Matrix came out 13 years ago. Fuck.
Almost weekly something happens to me that makes me feel every single one of my years twice, some of them 3 times.

I just can't figure it out, I'm only 22, and some days I feel 50, or even 60. I just feel tired. SO damn tired.

Probably the fact that when I play very physical sports I tend to play "old man game" (I used to have a reputation for being reckless and pulling crazy shit on the field). Also, getting out of bed hurts.

And my niece can talk to me. Sort of.

Captcha: Face the music.

I have, Captcha. I have.
Talk to you sorta? My niece is 10. She can probably write better than I can(handwriting-wise, not everything else thank god). My nephew is 6, I got him his first cap gun this last spring. I remember the day each of them was born, my nephew almost successfully ate his entire left forearm, and it feels like it was about 20 and 30 years ago. Just thinking about it makes my bones ache.

I knew I was old when it hurt to sit/lay on the floor for more than a couple minutes. I swear something happens around 25 or so where all of a sudden the ground is so much further away and so much harder than it used to be. That and you grunt, groan, crackle and pop getting up and down.
I've been doing that since I was 17, don't say that.

I'm 25 and I certainly feel less limber than I used to be :p
I have naturally poor flexibility and it's only getting worse. I am considering starting yoga with my girl friend >.>
It's probably a good idea. I need to get a lot more exercise to maintain a non-abysmal physique. Oh the days of eating candy and junk food and being super thin, how I miss you! T_T

Oh lord I turn 26 in October.
Go for it. I take yoga at work (when it's held) and used to do it a bit more often and it feels good. Apparently my sister is at the cash register buying an elliptical for us right now (I'm at work) so we'll be doing that, too.

I never had a metabolism to begin with, but my knees crackle going up stairs now, so I kinda need to work on that.
I can barely remember the last time my knees didn't crack going up stairs. I vaguely remember the first time it happened. I was 15, 14? So long ago.

The easiest way to make people around my age feel old is just say hey, remember the 90s? That was 20 years ago.
F*%K you! Don't do that.

God dam whelps thinking they are old. You bastards dont know the meaning of the word old. Why dont you come back in thirty fucking year and then you can complain about feeling old.

You're right I'm wrong...
He's actually 31.
Is it just me or he look creepy as fuck.
I take offense to that. My dad had his first total knee replacement when he was younger than I am now, and my mom had her first at about my age. My family gets old quick.

This is in date enough to be relevant.

I've not had that yet, but it's coming like a freight train :D
Finding Nemo came out NINE YEARS AGO?!

OT: ...I wasn't feeling old twenty seconds ago...
It only gets worse from here. The first one is like opening the door. Fast and furious.

Don't do that. She can't be that old, i refuse to believe it.

I'm sure there are plenty of kids where I live that didn't know we hosted the Olympics in 96'. (I live in Atlanta)
You'd have to have no eyes. When you drive into the city, you can plainly see the Olympic thing they put up, rings and all. I actually didn't know that until yesterday, thought it was pretty cool.

OT: The fact that Super Mario Bros. Deluxe came out in 1999, and I started playing it in like 2000. I've been gaming for over a decade...which is a good thing, but doesn't help my age.
I don't follow the olympics, I didn't know australia had one in 96, I don't even know where the one right now is.

im only 28 but im starting to grey on the sides already

/flex

sadly, i think i have almost as many grey hairs as my father in his mid 50's.....

Kinda ironic as my face looks much younger than my age, whereas my hair makes me look older than my actual age.

oh, here is a good one. The original power rangers came out when i was in second grade (1993)!

The original pokemon when i was in high school. I played Game Gear in elementary school.
No. The original power rangers can't be that old. I don't believe you . . . fuck.

I'm 40 and I have a 16 year old daughter. So yeah, you just described my everyday. Now get off my lawn. :p
My condolences. God, I can't even imagine having a 16 year old daughter, I might die the day that happens.

It's possible that people watch "The Ring" and never watched a film on VHS...or more likely, clicked on the "Save" Button of a program without really knowing what the little disk icon stands for (and for me, that wasn't even the oldest kind of disk i used. I remember Floppy Disks being Floppy).

But more funny/disturbing/depressing to me than those "Remember that movie? It's 20 Years old!" is when movies that are set in "the present" as well as the future/past feel weirdly nostalgic.
I remember being handing my first "floppy disk" and being like: What? this isn't floppy, and it's too small. You really expect me to believe this is a floppy, go get me the real one. God, this thread was a bad idea. Real floppy disks, I miss them, they were fun to play with

I was talking to an 18 year old, I admired a passing woman but was met with 'oh she's heaps old, she's like, 26'. You little turd I'm 34!!! Feeling old at 23? I only felt tired at that age and that was only Monday morning after staying out all weekend.
Yeah, less than 2 months after my 21st birthday one single day of hard exorsize left me unable to stand. That is feeling old.

Things that make me feel old...

Elijah Wood is now 30, he was 18 when he was in The Lord of the Rings.

Family Guy has been on TV for 12 years.

There hasn't been a new "Goosebumps" book in 14 years.
I refuse to believe your lies.

There is no way this kid is 30.

Forget LoTR, I remember Elijah Wood when he starred opposite Macaulay Culkin in The Good Son (1993).

Malcolm Reynolds is 41.

Jayne Cobb is 50.

Firefly was 10 years ago.

When the fuck did that happen?

I'm caught in kind of a weird spot in terms of feeling old/young. I'm nearly 23, which makes me the youngest guy in the entire centre where I work. But since it's a school most of the students are 17-19. Also, my sister is 18.

Jesus balls my sister is 18 and going off to university soon. Stop my life! It's going too fast and I want to get off!

As of today, I can buy rated M games without my parents permission.
I still remember when the first God of War came out in 2005 and my parents didn't want me to have anything to do with that game, now I'm playing games worse than that on a regular basis. xD

Nothing will piss you off more than when someone younger than you points out something they think is profound, but you figured out years ago, and then later realized that someone older than you figured it out much much sooner and so on and so on, etc.

Having kids has actually made me feel younger. I feel like a young parent, maybe when my kids are grown up I will feel old.

...wha...I was convinced that I was the youngest user here (17 though technically 18 in 18 days...heh.). Oh god. There are people younger than me that come here?
I'm none too surprised that people any younger than 17 are here somewhere they probably just lurk around a bunch. That's what I used to(and still) do.

On another note I also have a habit of making lots of people feel old because I'm heading off to college and will still be 17. It makes old peoples brains hurt :p

I'm 14... even I get the old feeling sometimes. My favourite album, discovery by daft punk came out when I was 3. Also, how many of you think my generation will be going "Modern Warfare came out 15 years ago!" in ten years? I think they will.

When listening to the song 'Moondance' I thought, just for a split second, "You know, I would totally do Van Morrison".

[sub]*shudder*[/sub]

In my defence, it's a pretty sexy song.
