FFXIV - What server do you guys play?

I just started a free trial with FFXIV (2 weeks) and assuming I like it enough to buy it, I want to create my characters in the right worlds.

So far I have a Pugilist in the Lich EU server, to play with a friend in that server who also just started his Gladiator. We're intending to only play those characters when we can both play together, so I'll be wanting to make new characters in other servers.

Bearing that in mind, what servers do you guys play on? I'd like to at least have the option of playing with you!

Also, does anyone have any tips for someone just starting out? My Pugilist is lvl 5 with some very basic gear and just beginning to get some quests that involve going a bit further afield.

EDIT: So the 2nd post makes sense, I accidentally had FFIV instead of FFXIV. Fixed now.

Wait wait wait, you're saying that Squenix had the balls to launch a failed MMORPG, take it down for almost a year, relaunch it as this game, and still not go F2P supported by microtransactions?

Also I think you mean FFXIV, the 2013 MMORPG, instead of FFIV, the 1991 SNES game.

Oh! Haha, yeah I meant FFXIV - I thought something looked amiss when I posted.

I thought it pretty common knowledge at this point that SE improved it to a point that it was actually pretty decent. I haven't gotten far in it by any means, but it does seem fun so far and not particularly broken in any way.

I'm also aware of at least a few people here who play it, thus the thread.

I guess I'm a bit out of the loop on this game then. Last I heard was late 2012/early 2013 and people were already speculating when it would go F2P or offline. I guess I'll have to get caught up on the changes and consider checking it out in a few months when I have the time.
