This thread is a pretty basic thread, what are some characters in a fictional setting, whether it be a TV show, video game, movie, or book, that had a lot of potential but we're dropped by the creators too fast?
I'll go first with some examples
That's the biggest ones I can think of, what are your opinions? What are some characters that really got dropped on their asses when they had huge potential?
No flaming please.
TL;DR
What characters had a lot of potential, but were ultimately forgotten.
I'll go first with some examples
Kal'Reegar
Lets be honest, in the brief 10 minutes of time Kal'Reegar was around you loved him. He was a no-nonsense soldier and a loyal quarian who also happened to kick ass, whats not to love?
Well everything apparently since bioware dropped him on his ass as soon as Tali's loyalty mission is done, with the only mention being how he apparently
Which was rather disappointing.
The fact that he's voiced by Adam Baldwin helps a lot too.
Shiala
Shiala shows up several times through out the series, first as a servant turned slave and later as an old friend asking for help (Or a commando if you chose to kill Zhus Hope...bastard)
Right out the gate she has some wonderful ideas to explore, such as the fact that she is the only character in the ME universe to truly overcome Indoctrination (Not including Shepard if you believe in the Indoctrination Theory) that alone gives her new ideas to explore, like perhaps indoctrination can be cured and or overcome by others? Beyond that there's the fact that she shares a mental bond with the colonists of Zhus Hope and is green.
But, well, yeah, dumped on her green ass as well.
Detective Chellick
I liked Detective Chellick for one main reason, he was the foil to Garrus. Garrus is shown as a guy who has gotten sick of waiting to fix problems and wants to abandon rules to dish out justice.
Meanwhile you got the feel that Chellick was the other side of the coin, he wanted to help people while staying by the book, and the one quest you got with him showed that it was possible and that maybe Garrus was wrong.
To add to that he was one of the few Turians in ME1 who didn't want to scalp you.

Milos Radovicnouizicioiuizcinicizich'l
Milos was hilarious, he really was. He had an interesting background, had some rather hilarious parts in his one episode, and created a possibly interesting character for turk to bounce off of.
Yet we never see him again after "My Perspective" which, in my opinion, was rather sad.
Kevin Casey
Yeah yeah yeah, I know, he was guest star, shut the hell up and let me talk or I'll give you a detention.
Dr. Casey, in my opinion, had potential; Much more than he was given. He was funny but also had a character that you could hate and love at the same time, which was important for the series (Seriously, who DIDN'T want to punch JD in the mouth sometimes). If he had more screen time I think he could have been really great.
Then again I could just love him so much because its Marty Mcfly.
Or the fact that he's a doctor with OCD, something I aspire to.
Or...yeah nevermind, you got my drift.

Babette
HEY...don't judge,
You see the character in the movie, and more so in the stage version, but she is never even given a name outside of the script. Hell the only way I remember her name is because when I did a staged version of B and the B we had to call her something besides "The slutty duster"
None the less they could have had more fun with the character besides the occasional slut/rape joke that only people 15+ would catch. But maybe that's just me.

Benny
I MEAN THE MOVIE VERSION.
Benny (IN THE MOVIE VERSION) shows up a grand total of maybe 6 times, however its heavily hinted at that he used to be a big part of the main casts life, and, in the stage version, actually sort of rejoins the group after Angels funeral.
The MOVIE could have explored this background more in my opinion.
