Oh god. A waste. A complete waste. Why play a game which you can do in real life WITH MINIMAL EFFORT?!?!? I for one, can't go outside and (let's say) mow down civilians by the truck load with a hail of automatic weapons fire (mostly because I don't live in America). I CAN however, pick up a soccer ball and kick it around. WHY would I play a game in which I can emulate by spending 5 minutes rooting around my shed for a round, airfilled bag?

People should stop wasting money on shit...

From my knowledge, all Football games look the same to me apart from graphics. There is no creativity, i hate Football anyway.

Why?!?! Why do people play these games? It's basically the same game that was released last year. The additions just only justify being DLC, not a brand new game. They don't even deserve to be called video games. If you want to play the sport, get your fat ass of the couch, chair, w/e, get some friends and go play actual game.

Have you played it? No? So you're not aware of the next gameplay mechanics, the new single player and multiplayer modes? These things can't be done via download content. The differences between FIFA 09 & FIFA 10 are bigger than say Halo 3 & ODST or Left 4 Dead & Left 4 Dead 2. And you'll get a lot more hours out of FIFA.
And yes, I do play football, twice a week thank you for asking, but that doesn't mean that a football game is pointless. In real life, I can't play in the biggest stadiums in europe, against the best teams in the world. And sometimes it's nice to play before or after my real life game, to get my mindset right or to help me wind down. Or when I'm injured, or when my game has been called off or when a few mates are round.
I put over 50 hours into the last FIFA, it was a game I played all year around. If I can't spend £35 on a game that can entertain me for that long, without being criticised by people who don't know what they're talking about, then I might as well just stop gaming because it's a waste of money according to people like you.

Since when is 50 hours on a game viewed as a lot? I don't even want to begin to pull out numbers I spent on my RPGs of old or - god forbid - World of Warcaft. 50 hours over a year? Really? That's your justification number?

That's barely under £1 an hour. I could buy YO SISTER for that money.

One has to wonder how the best selling game of all time, the best selling film of all time and the best selling sports game of all time happen to come within four weeks of each other.

Someone might suspect a little truth manipulation.

324 on TF2 so far. CoX had over 1000.

Yeah, look at games like Modern Warfare 2 for example. If you can't play online, then you'd struggle to get more than 20 hours out of it and that retails at £45.
For single player 50 hours good. The only games that have beaten that for me are Oblvion (at about 120 hours) and Mass Effect (at slightly less).
Compared to a blu-ray movie, at about £10 for 2/3 hours of entertainment, I'd say FIFA is pretty good value for money as entertainment goes.

It's the same game over and over again! I'll never understand why people say it's different somehow.

I don't "get" football in general, I think watching a ball go up and down a pitch with a bunch of pansy rich pricks kicking the ball is not interesting.
Unless of course someone is injured, properly.
Yeah, then in which case they only need to stub there tow for it to be classed an "Injury"

However, as for the sales im not surprised...likely every other yob has bought a copy

I wonder which soccer game is doing better Pro Evolution Soccer vs FIFA
Hmmm...FIFA in the last 2 or so years. PES is wavering...kinda what happened to FIFA when PES start going strong.

I think you're my new hero!

Not surprised that it's shifted so many copies. Seems to have secured top spot over PES for the first time in ages, deserves it as well.
