Fighting game characters

I'm not sure about you but my first game was a fighting game (Tekken 2) so fighting games have a special place in my heart and if I was going to make a game a fighting game would be one. I'm looking at all these other fighting games (Marvel v Capcom 2, BlazBlue, Tekken Tag, etc.) and I'm noticing that characters are essential to a fighting game.

To the point If you could make a fighting game what would a character be.

One of mine would be a ball of shadow that has stone arms a legs that float around him.

Maybe a legles floating character that is immune to low attacks, kind of an oppisite to those Yoda, Gon, Servbot annoying short chacters who are immune high attacks.

how could he kick your ass he does NO DAMAGE, NONE, the only reason you have him on your team is his final smash or if your making a small team of him, roll, and bb hood

I Sucked then. and also he's one of those annoying small characters.

basically all you need is 20 characters 7 different looking women all with gigantically unreal breasts that giggle with even the slightest shift in the wind in tight fabrics that you probobly couldn't classify as clothing for every 13 year old nerd boy on the planet and then 8 badass looking characters for the people that want too look like a badass when they're fighting then 5 ridiculous characters for the people like me myself that love beating the living shit out of some overly muscular guy as a regular sized man in a suit and top hat with a cane instead of a sword

A guy with unpredictable attacks (beginning of all attack animations are randomly chosen from a set). The point of this would be making blocks more difficult, i.e. not knowing if you should block high or low, if it's a grab, and so on. Other than that, he wouldn't be physically powerful (for the sake of character balance). As for looks... he'd be a really old leprechaun, his magnificent beard flowing to the ground. He'd fight with a magic shillelagh.
