So yeah, this game is not very publicized so I figure lots of people may not know it came out today. This topic is aimed at bringing it up as well as to serve as a discussion hub (there were a few user groups for fighters/blazblue etc. but they were super inactive sadly).

I have been playing the game for about a week now and it's awesome (gamestop broke street date for like 2 days then reinstated it). If you're a fan of any of the other games made by arcsys (Blazblue, persona 4 arena etc.) give this a go!

Also, if you see a Sin player named Dreikoo online, that's me, hi! :D

Sorry, but I have plans to get the "real" edition. This one is an imposter.
I got really irritated back then with the first GG games....
Also I suck at fighting games, but I love them, so wait for me :)

He means he'll wait for the Turbo Reloaded Extended Senpai Gosu Basara edition that will come down the line with 3 more game modes and 4 new characters.

I have it ordered but I am in the UK so I have to wait for import hopefully will get it for christmas. I could download it from the american PSN I suppose but thats not a great option with my internet.

I just got Dengeki Bunko Climax yesterday (ordered it on release it just arrived) only played a little but seems ok havent really established and opinion yet other than it doesnt suck and plays quite well. If I get chance I want to unlock Selvaria Bles tonight because well its SELVARIA FRIKKIN BLES the one woman army and an awesome character and really at least 55% the reason I ordered the game (have way to many games and fighters to play).

I am not very good at fighters atm beyond a few games but I am hoping my friend will get into GG and then we can play and level up together. I am gonna give I-no another go see if I can get anywhere (seriously lack of practice due to time is really annoying). Looking forward to playing as Faust and Venom as well.

Lots of good fighters are still coming out but doesnt look like we will ever see another Darkstalkers which just baffles me considering some of the niche fighters being released.

I'm going to have to wait I think as I'm currently in fighting game overload and have yet to even touch Persona Arena yet... but I'll get it sometime soon.

I simply cannot wrap my head around Arc System Works' fighting games.

I mean, I tried to play Person 4 Arena. I loved Persona 4, and I wanted to see where the story went.

But I just couldn't do it.

No thanks. I may be a big fighting game fan, but GG just isn't for me. I've tried several games in the series at varying points in time and yet I've never really enjoyed any of them. There's just something about the way the games feel to play, the visual design and the characters that completely turn me off.

Picked it up a couple of days ago as apparently this game was under the radar enough that Gamestop sent copies to some of their stores early AND didn't care if those stores sold said copies. Right now I'm just waiting for PSN to update so I can get the free DLC character. A few days worth of training mode and trials with this game has reminded me just how many many bad habits the questionably designed Street Fighter IV instills in people. What do you mean I have to actually hit the diagonals for half-circle moves?!? I didn't have to do that in SFIV. *sniff* *sniff*

GGXrd is definitely where my fighting game energy is going to be going for the foreseeable future as I don't expect a US release to reinvigorate the Under-Night in Birth community in my area and I'm fortunate enough to be living near one of the larger Guilty Gear communities in the US. I'm also just generally sick of SFIV at the moment.

I would love to pick up Xrd if I had any freaking money to buy it. Or a PS3 of my own at all.

I'm stuck playing poverty USF4 Omega Mode on PC for now.

Well, that won't be for years to come. If you wait this long you'll miss out on playing it from now till then. I think it's worth the money since it has legit hundreds of hours of replayability if you wanna become good at it. Also, there's an additional problem if you wait, you'll never actually get to play the game, since there's ALWAYS gonna be a new, more updated version in the future. Fighting games don't just end, you know.

It's more about the trip. It's more about growing as a competitor with the community around you and being part of a fighting group of awesome badasses. To best enjoy this, the ideal thing to do is to start with everyone else so that skill levels will be as near as possible. If you wait 2 years to get the upgraded game, you'll be up against people with 2 years more experience than you. Learning in that environment is much more difficult than it will be to learn when everyone's new at the game as they are right now.

Aw man... I know it's been out for "some time" now, but I'm still choosing between buying 3rd and just use my PS3 controller or use the money to replace my PS3 fight stick that stopped working not long after I bought my copy of Ultimax... <color=white>So far, I can't do both...

Regardless, it's on my "To-Buy" list...

Same here. Right now, it feels kind of incomplete. Once they bring back some of the beloved characters from before, like Johnny and Baiken, and advance the plot a bit more, then I'll be ready for it.

I was certain I had made up my mind to wait on this one, but now you've got me feeling uncertain again. If only I knew exactly when the next one was supposed to be released. Then again, fighters are often wasted on me, since I never get around to playing online matches.

weird thing is that if you look online there's a bunch of character desing sheets that sort make it seem like they purposly left out Jam, Testament, Baiken, Anji, Dizzy, etc. because they probably ran out of time or because they wanted to save them for DLC. Which is another reason why I rather wait for the Extend version since those DLC characters don't get their own story and Baiken, Anju, and Jam are some of my favorite characters in the game so I rather wait until they get added to the roster and story

The game just came out dude. At least a year. My guess would make it closer to 2 years.

Yeah, based on past releases ever 2-3 years is a reasonable expectation. I wouldn't based on complaints about BlazBlue (that the game was being updated too often) be surprised if it was closer to the three year mark. I would also add that Xrd is essentially a reboot of the series hence the slightly tweaked roster. I'm enjoying it quit a bit so far. <3 Ephelt.
