What would you like to see Monsters/Combat wise in Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim?

I would like the challenge of defeating an enemy to be greater, rather than "Oh, it's a zombie. *chop* *chop* block* *chop* *healing spell* repeat" I would like to get a sense of accomplishment when I beat an enemy. I would like to see an enemy and go "Oh shit, this is going to be tough."

Do you know what I mean? If you need clarification just quote and ask, and I will try.

Ice magic to freeze shit in it's tracks or slow it down, at the expense of a higher mana cost for full-on freezing spells.

Fire magic to add Damage Over Time.

Shock magic to...stun.

And make ice magic not suck!

There were only 2-3 common enemies weak to frost in Oblivion. Flame Atronachs, Spider Daedra (and they also had a weakness to shock), and High Elves (who also had weaknesses to fire and shock). Not sure about Morrowind, as playing a mage was shitty without mods. And I can't seem to mod the Steam version.

I believe there will be enough satisfaction to be had in the form of finishing moves. And if you want a challenge, just crank up the difficulty, that's what the slider is for.

Personally, I can't wait to get all the dragon shouts and become a half dragon god!

I always wanted (by always I mean since about 6 months ago when I thought of it) some more strategic magic. In Oblivion you would just put on your buffs and pick your favorite "does every kind of damage" spell, then pick your favorite sword to slash with. After playing the recent Fallouts, I thought of something VATS-ish for some spells.

Take your average "magic missile" type spell. Now add a lock-on feature of sorts. Now you can queue up 2 or more of each spell to occur at once, to take care of multiple enemies, if an area effect spell wouldn't be enough, at the same time. Something like that at least. Definitely extra cost to magicka for simultaneous casting, but being able to cast five magic missiles at once would make me very happy

Also, location damage. Maybe not for spells, but definitely for physical weapons. Maybe even add gore (since it would make sense, I'm not just trying to be nasty), where you could chop off a living creature's leg, forcing them to crawl to you. I know, it's nasty, but crippling a minotaur in such a fashion would certainly make it easier to kill, since I hope that they make monsters like that much harder to kill.

For archery, bring back crossbows. This game takes place over a hundred years after Oblivion right? And I know they nixed crossbows for Oblivion because of the simplified math in the combat system or something. But really, it would do more damage overall, especially to unarmored or lightly armored (chain-mail) enemies, and take much longer to load. Balance, I suspect. Also, nobody uses archery enough to make it level up fast enough. Or, at least, I didn't. I would sneak around in dungeons with my bow, sneak attack somebody, then take out my sword because I knew there was no way in hell I could ever attack with a bow at point-blank range. As handy as it was, it never leveled up fast enough for me. Make it go a bit faster, would be another of my requests.

I like the idea of epic, semi-tactical fights with formidable foes, but I wouldn't want that every time. I kind of like effortlessly chopping down zombies and goblins, too.
Maybe we could have enormous hordes of mooks now and then.

One of the better magic systems I've ever seen was that of Bioshock, (magic, plasmids made with magic slug juice, what have you) even works from first person view. I think the best combat I've ever seen would be that in the Assassin's creed games, though I don't see Bethesda integrating these things any time soon. (with perhaps good reason)

its actually pretty simple, just go to [link]http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Oblivion_Mod_Manager[/link]click on the full installer and run the application, now you have a tool that will organize your mods for you, then just download the construction set and watch the videos on how to make mods. if you download mods, just open up obmm, click create, click add archive, select the file you want, add a title, and presto, the mod will load. this is alot easier than the other way, where you just paste all the mod files into the data folder of oblivion in the steamapps window

I'd like more local damage mechanics, especially with something like archery. I'd like to be able to tactically choose whether to aim for a headshot and deal an essentially lethal blow, despite risking missing and alerting the guards of my presence, or aim for their weapon hand to disable them from attacking me, again risking a miss, or just go straight for the armored torso, which would take less damage because, hello, chainmail is super effective against arrows, but at the same time it would be a surefire hit.

I'd also like stealth to be more creative. The thief's pack mod did this and had this concept; you could extinguish torches with your arrows to give you more darkness cover, or use arrows to make sounds to lead guards in the wrong direction, much like the original Thief games. Being able to outwit guard patterns like that would be really neat.

Play Monster Hunter.
It really feels good to take down a big monster. It's not about clicking until the health bar reaches zero, it's about skill, pure skill.
