I was thinking of saving up for a fightstick, but I would like some recommendations. Preferably, I want it to be multi-plat (PS3 & PC at least), and hopefully useable on the Xbone &\or PS4 as well (want to cover my bases, futureproof myself). I was thinking of the Foehammer Stealth S7, but I don't know whether or not that PS360+ thingy (or whatever they use to make it download the upcoming free PS4 driver) would cause input lag. All in all, any recommendations?

Im not really that knowledgeable on fightsticks as I have decided they are not for me I was happy enough with the Mad Catz pro fightstick though it felt solid unlike some others I have tried that said I expect there are much better ones out there its just I found that fine for my needs which is as a casual enthusiast mine works on the PS3 and PC. I havent tried it on the PS4 but I am almost certain it dosent work however Sony have allowed devs to release drivers for it and the Skullgirls team are looking to make one that allows any stick that works on PS3 to also work on PS4 but at the moment it hasent been done.

I tend just to use a Hitbox and controller for fighters now usually for 2D and 3D respectively the Hitbox I have works on PS3 and PC but im pretty sure you can get one that works for Xbox,PS3 and PC as well as for the new gen I am unsure atm I dont think there are many fightsticks for PS4 and Xbox One as apart from KI there isnt any real need for them I have no doubt some will be released later though especially when GG gets released.

They are releasing a stick that you can use on both ps3 and ps4. I would wait to buy that one ( that's what i'm doing). Madcatz sticks have always been known for their reliability, i rather pay a little bit more for a good stick than get a cheap one that'll break in a year.

I use a Qanba Q4, it's all sanwa parts with ps3-360-pc out of the box. The turbo button is mysterious and non-functional, but there's no real legit reason to need a turbo button anyway.

No next-gen, but it's a really good stick outside of that.

Pretty much this.

If you've decided you're going to get a fight stick, then you really can't go wrong with Mad Catz at this point. Sure they're pretty much the default and you won't stand out in a crowd for using one, but if what you care about is a solid stick that actually works you won't do much better. Plus, their prices are comparatively cheap especially if you buy one during a tournament promo, which they always have.

As I said in a previous thread about the Foehammer, I really haven't heard about it at all. There's one promotional video out there that seems more commercial than honest testimonial and any time a stick promises to wine you, dine you and bring you breakfast in bed the next morning my BS detector starts going off. Besides, it's very expensive and it sounds like you're paying more for the custom looks than anything else.

Anywho, I'll also insert my usual caveat about buying fight sticks in general: A fight stick will not make you a better player. Not saying this specifically in the case of the OP as it's something they may have already considered, but you can play pretty much every fighter with a pad just as well as a stick. The choice is mostly about comfort at this point and there are world class players in every fighting game that play on pad. The reason many pros play on stick is simply because they started in the arcade where you had no choice but to use a stick (or even if there was a home version available, you had to go to the arcade if you wanted to find competition). If you want a stick, that's cool.. but you'll still have to put in all of the work to get better.

Yeah, sorry about posting multiple of the same thread. It's just that people keep on saying that fightsticks are more accurate, they're overall better when you master them (on top of one video stating that a pad warrior being competitive is from "sheer force of will," or something like that). On top of that, it does make logical sense that having all your buttons in one area make it easier in the long run (especially with six button fighters like Street Fighter, Skullgirls, and Killer Instinct).

You think the PS4 half will work on PC thru DirectInput?, part of the reason why I want a fightstick is because of my Steam copy of Skullgirls (being a six-button fighter).

There's this guide floating about. I hope you find it useful.

I found myself grabbing the xbox360 MadCatz SF4 and MvC3 sticks (the MvC3 was at PAX 2010 when Capcom VASTLY overestimated their stock and discounted it by 50% on Sunday, haha) and used the Cthulhu/ChImp board to add PS3 support. So I just to plug either into the console and it'll automatically detect which platform and switch accordingly. And added in an octogate for circular motion fun.

I'd suggest waiting a bit to see if a similar chip with multiplatform support comes out if you have multiple consoles and obviously don't want to spend $$$ to get a stick for each. Given Microsoft's stance on licensed peripherals, it's probably easier to mod an existing Xbox controller to support the Playstation than the other way around.

Hehehe, it's the thought that counts.
I can't use sticks, keep doing down-forward or down-backward instead of just down.

Well i know xbox360 sticks work on PC, because microsoft.

I think ps3 sticks can work on PC, but you may have to look up how on the internet ( sorry i'm not computer savvy).

So since this still will be ps3/ps4 compatible, i would assume that at the very least, the ps3 function of the stick should be good for the PC.

But since the stick isn't out yet in NA, i cannot be certain.

I know that you can use PS3 controllers by emulating X-Input using MotionInJoy. The thing is, didn't Sony say that the Dualshock 4 has DirectInput capabilities (and we can assume the insides of a DS4 were the base for the PS4 half, right?)?
