File corruption problem

OK, so, for some reason, I've recently been noticing that numerous files on my pen drive have become corrupted. Most, if not all of them, have been my pictures. When I click on them, the picture's quality has just been fucked, whether it be through the colouring, like a weird purple filter or something, or half the picture isn't even showing.

And I don't know how to fix it either. And it's kind of unnerving me, because I don't know how long it'll take before almost all my files get corrupted, and I can't access any of them, and I don't know how this happened.

Could someone help me, please?

OK, I don't mean to be persistent, but no-one's replied to this thread and it's an urgent problem. I'm at risk of important files being inexplicably lost, and even when I scan my drive and ask to fix the files, it comes with a message saying that there's nothing wrong and everything's working fine.

Your pen drive is most likely corrupted and if that's the case you probably can't save the files on it.

You probably should have posted this thread on the Advice section of the forum, you may yield better result from there.

What program are you using to open them? Does a message actually appear that says your files are corrupted?

You could try doing a low-level format of the pen drive, which would probably help, but this would erase all your files.

Take the pen drive to a professional and get them to look at it and see what they can recover. Buy a new pen drive and use that in the future.

Right, well, if a moderator wants to move this thread to that section, then I'd appreciate it.

It's Windows Photo Viewer, and no, there's no message. Occasionally, when I put in my pen drive for the first time when I boot up my laptop again, it gives me a message telling me to scan my pen drive and fix any files that may need to be fix, and I do just that. But when the scanning and potential file-fixing is finished, it says there's nothing wrong with the data on my drive.

But when I see a certain image in my Pictures folder (and it only seems to be that folder), some of the image has just been, like, wiped or something. I click on it to view, and it's still ruined, even though it doesn't say there's anything wrong with the data.

I don't know what that is, and I'm not too happy about the idea of erasing all my files, since I have a lot of important stuff on there. But I guess I could get another pen drive and transfer all my stuff onto there. I have Dropbox too, so it's backed up.

Ehhh, I don't think I'm going to take it to a professional, as I have some...private things on it that I don't want anyone else to see. But yeah, I'll probably buy a new pen drive. My current one does look a little bit bent, but it might just be my imagination.
