Oh young one, you have much to learn.
Thanks... I think.

But I'm seriously starting to regret even being apart of this forum, I just wanted to blow off some steam at how crappy Square's become and already I've been accused of ripping off Yahtzee, as we both have a sense of humor, ranting, and now I feel like everyone is judging my every spacing in every sentence structure. I really don't like it.

This is probably going to be the last topic I ever post here, which is a little sad because it's the only one I've posted, because it's really not worth it, considering I'll be leaving this topic today with no more then I was already well aware of and a little less self-confidence.

Disclaimer: Not a stab at you in any way shape or form - not a rant - not a ripoff quote
What did i just say up there? Look dont take all of this so personally, we were all being facetious. Its just our way around them here parts. Dont shun us just yet, this is an awesome place. You will get used to the humour around here trust me. Please feel free to post some more.
I wasn't taking it personally, I guess I just don't know how to articulate myself through text without sounding whiny. I just prefer posting over making topics, too much judgment goes with making the topics.

Dear Journal, I learned a new word today, facetious <3

Will it be a PS3 exclusive? Sorry thats how little i know about this game, also any plans to port to PC?
According to the Sony E3 event it was an exclusive to the PS3, but if you look at the teaser site it actually says PS3 and Windows.

Read all about it here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/92125

...huh, I actually didn't expect an honest reply to this topic in one lifetime. Thanks... but seriously, that's it? Nothing new? So it will be the same monthly fee bull?
Well there might be more stuff, but the only legit reason I can see them doing it is for the PS3 platform. FXI was first on the PS2, but they stopped it and put it on the XBOX 360. So this brings it back to Sony territory.

So I would recommend just continuing the jabs at Sony and Square-Enix. I would much rather see a Kingdom Hearts online than another Final Fantasy version. Oh and it has to be for the XBOX 360 as I won't buy a PS3.

Because XI did well and made them some money and making a new one could do the same. Kind of the same reason there are so many Final Fantasies, Gran Turismo's, Ratchet and Clanks, Call of Duties, Medal Of Honors, BattleFields, etc etc etc. People will buy it and play it and the company will make money off it.

I personally liked XI it was fun the community was nice and it had that Final Fantasy feeling to it. I will play XIV and decide if it is good or not when it comes out and wether it is worth my money.
Wow! The first honest answer of the topic! You get a telepathic high five... did you feel it? Sorry if it came up in the wrong area, I'm still perfecting my telepathy.

I liked XI too, I didn't like my wallet being shaken down for its last penny.

I think you need a little more practice on the telepathy I was wondering why my cup went flying off my desk.

Yeah the wallet shake down thing is most pay to play mmo's anyways I personally usually steer towards the one that are free to play with the option to buy extra equipment and such from stores. I guess I never really had any issues with squares charging policy they charged me as much as they said they would.

I guess my account came with an enormous "sucker" sticker on it, or something, 'cause they showed me no mercy in charging me for an extra account they said was only going to cost an extra dollar, the same thing happening with that card game thing, again, only a dollar. Otherwise, I would've kept playing.

Unless FF games get good graphics, animation and missile/spell detail, (possibly physics, but I know this opposes complications with balance) I won't likely be playing them...

I like Final Fantasy XI a lot.
Yes, there is A LOT of grinding involved. Nontheless the game features two things that made me come back and is missing in most MMOs:

- epic stories and cutscenes gave me the feeling I really had some kind of impact in the game world

- there is no PVP, the fights are designed so you really need an outweight party from time to time

These two points won't be very convinving for most people, but I am a gamer who hates PVP and needs a nice story to accompany the gameplay. And with that I don't mean fetchquest givers brabbling about their problems in the oh so cruel world, but a REAL story. Long story short:; I'll give FFXIV definately a chance as FFXI wasn't a letdown for me.

Um, most of the people just started having fun with your thread when using the "syringe and land mine" quotes. And I find it interesting that a word Yahtzee made up has become popular enough that it is making it into a more mainstream usage. "Mamo" didn't really work nor does saying: Multi-player Online Game Thingie". So perhaps it will wind up in the dictionary later. That would be quite the feather in his cap I think!

But more towards the topic point...I would think it would offer a different setting. But I wonder if it will be something that will provide new areas on the old game or if it intends to sweep away the old. Final Fantasy tends to switch between having a stronger fantasy theme to more of a strong sci-fi theme. And I enjoy the former much more than the latter. Thus I have Morrowind and Oblivion rather than Old Republic 1 and 2. If it is a replacement, I wonder how long they will support the old game before deciding to make it defunct, or if they will split their fan base further and kill two games with one stone. Similar to the AD&D effect-so many versions that there are too few players to support them.

They would do better to just make upgrades like City of Heroes does if it isn't a completely new game. Hearing that a system has exciting new options tends to draw people in more than trying to "re-invent the wheel" when it comes to online MMO's.

I quit FFXI. All the walking and the absurd leveling time turned me off extremely. The cities were too big for me to find anything in, and the quests were annoying and after doing the quest, I've forgot who gave it to me and where he is. Then I remember there are better ways to waste money.

Even long after I've thrown my hands up in surrender, they keep going. It's less a sign of surrender and more like a signal to saw my arms off to them.

Any similarities to Yahtzee is completely coincidental, all Yahtzee jokes are copyrighted © to Ben "Yahtzee" Crowshaw. Any sentence structured by the man-god Ben "Yahtzee" Crowshaw found used by unauthorized personnel, be sure to castrate said user, regardless of circumstance.

Anyways, see? Other games have updated their graphics ext. for the next generation without releasing a whole new game. I was just trying to expose the whole thing as a worthless attempt at whoring out what use to be a unique game company. They're becoming Nintendo, much like how Cartoon Network is becoming MTv. Anyhow, I agree with what you've said and I appreciate you taking the time to give me a REAL reply to my topic and not just use it as an excuse to chip away at my already small defenseless confidence. I wish more people would try to make an effort like you did.

So, you're going to be playing Verus XIII?
Possibly, it looks very nice =)... If you are referring to Final Fantasy XIII, you said "Verus XIII".

They haven't revealed much about the title, but I assume it will include a new setting, story, classes, and maybe a different style of gameplay. That's just my guess.

You may be right, but I'm gonna hold off judgment until the game is released. It's only fair.

The way I see it, I feel you should only be allowed to announce a new title when the one you are currently working on is finished (trilogies are exempt).

Everyone be on the lookout for the following titles:
Duke Nukem Forever 2
Starcraft: Ghost 2
Diablo 4: Resurrection
Portal 3
Half-Life 4: Episode 6: The Real Beginning
Modern Warfare 4: Airborne Warfare Nuclear Assault Final Frontier
and the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid: Falling

Coming next century.

They get really fucked backwards I've noticed.
