Here's a radical thought: what if someone who doesn't already have FF7 wants it? I'll mock the inclusion of 'cheevos every day of the week, but I won't roll my eyes because a copy will cost less than $200.

The game was notoriously shit on PC and now it's actually fixed, that alone is news.

One of the features included is the ability to hack the system to get more items to get you out of a tough spot. Wow, because the designers included that in the game means that they know how inferior PC gamers are to console scrubs. If they can't get past an area because it too hard, they turn on the cheater and get out of that jam. Console gamers are real gamers because they did not have built in cheats to guide them.

It's been on PSN for ages as well. Unless you really want to pay for a disc version there's no need to pay more than a few quid.

You mean apart from the item dupe glitch that was already in FFVII?

If they re-release it on PSN like this, then PSN too will have the Super Guide. The original PC version didn't have this Super Guide so I really don't see this as SE calling PC gamers inferior. Just them updating the game for a new audience who may have become used to easier games. Not that FF7 was hard in the first place.

I'd be a lot more impressed if this tailor was more then just cut scenes from the original version pasted together, as evidenced by the fact you can clearly see the old blocky gameplay characters in several scenes.

So wake me up when there's a trailor which shows what the remake is going to bring to the table.

There is no remake. It's a re-release of the original game, with a few minor enhancements. The best I'm hoping for is they still have the source code and recompile the engine in a modern OS, so that it actually works.

FFVII was already released on PC, millions of years ago. I still have it. You do need a PC from before the dawn of time to make it work though since it refuses to deal with any more modern hardware or operating systems.

That's what patches are for.

Hmm, maybe I'll load it up again....

Well from what I understand there's quite a few mods for FFVII for the graphics. Provided those will work on this sure I'll get it but not on release. I'm going to give this one a bit of time to see if everything is working.
