Final Fantasy XIII Predicted to Sell More Copies on Xbox 360

I somehow doubt it. I hate to stereotype console owners, but Xbox 360 owners generally prefer FPS games, and the majority of people who bought a PS3 bought it under the allusion that FFXIII was exclusive to the console (myself included). I own both consoles, and I know there's no way in hell I'd get it for 360, these may only be nit-picks, but here's why;

1. Scaled down graphics (it matters to me)
2. Disc swapping (it a little annoying...)
3. I've played the last five FF games on a Sony console, why would I want to stop now?

And I apologise in advance to the Xbox 360 owners reading this who don't use their console to be an annoying shit on online FPS games.

Also, MyVoucherCodes.co.uk is in no way a reliable source, it sends out more spam than an exploding pork factory, so I wouldn't take their word too seriously. It'd be like asking the Pope for ISP advice...

Final Fantasy games really haven't been good since Final Fantasy IX, ignoring VIII due to it being shit.

And knowing how bad FFXII was, well, I'll just say it, I don't expect this one to be good.

I'm really excited, I own a Xbox 360 and I have never gotten to play a FF game. I owned a PSX back when I was 11ish so the FF games went unnoticed by me. Can't wait to check this game out!

And if it were being released on the Wii, it would sell more on the Wii.
See, there are more Xbox360s than PS3s, and more Wiis than both. So this prediction falls under "well yes, duh" territory.

In Japan, it has sold at least 1.8 Million copies on the PS3. Whether you want to consider it part of this or not, it remains a fact that it counts towards the Playstation 3 regardless.

If the person was pointing out a specific region in which will one version will sell more copies, I believe his statement may stand ground.

well jrpgs dont sell that well on the 360 in the usa, just look at the sale no.s for

Lost Odyssey: http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=7637

Star Ocean The Last Hope: http://www.vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=23447&region=All

but most of these games are bad IMO. I think the ps3 will out sell the 360, because i think the ff fan base is still bigger on the ps3.
listen to this man.

And damn, that would be a change. Everyone goes OMG jizz in my pants for heavy rain but then snub FFXIII? Lame. And the PS2 was the console to be on for RPG's last gen.

Strange prediction.

nope most 360 owners are trigger-happy people and not interrested in a long story (and I am one of them) I dont think I,ll get FFXIII just because its already part 13

Hmmmm, Just reading some of the responses on this thread, I don't understand how people are saying that there are not many RPG on modern consoles. I know there are more FPS, but that doesn't mean there are no RPG.

Okay sure, they vary in quality from excellent (Lost Odyssey - Xbox exclusive btw) to the not so good (Eternal Sonata - formerly Xbox exclusive now on both PS3 and Xbox). Unfortunately this genre lacks advertising, so I guess that is why people don't know they exist.

Also I think FFXII was a good game. It got delayed to many times, but, it played very well. I enjoyed it very much, and clocked up a minimum of 150 hours because I wanted to do as many sidequests as possible. But, I haven't played it much since getting a HDTV... as PS2 kinda looks really bad on HD.

Anyway back on topic. In the end, I doubt there is going to be much difference with Xbox and PS2. Both are HD capable, so the only major difference is disk swapping... at the moment. There may be minor differences such as Xbox could slowdown in very populated areas, or the textures might look better on PS3 since there is more room on a BD for higher quality. Nothing major in these.

I disagree, a lot of people bought the Ps3 on the promise of such titles like a new Final Fantasy being released.

oh right, just think the 360 user are bigger fans of wrpg than jrpg, just look at Mass effect 1&2 and fallout 3, all 3 games together have out sold all the jrpgs i listed

It's probably true that more will sell on xbox, although, it'll be close. I just read about how if you get the xbox version then you'll miss out on all cut-scenes being in 1080p and over all better graphics. I wish I had a xbox or ps3 lol. I heard they're going to kinda revamp online play though so I guess I'll have something to look forward too.

What most of us mean by there being almost no RPGs on the consoles, is in terms of JRPGs, not western rpgs, or sandbox rpgs.
But even in the broad term RPG, theres still very few... like 1 per year it seems.
Oddly one of the best JRPGs that came out this year, kicks the socks off of anything that was released on any console...

Demon's Souls.

This makes sense to me. Most of my friends loved a bit of FF on the Playstation. Most of them have moved onto 360's (and apperntly this has happened to alot of people), so FF13 should have a huge income from 360 users.
Yep that is what happened with me. I was a playstation enthusiast from ps1 through the ps2 and now the psp (my favourite console ever as it plays all of the golden age games), but, AT THE TIME I BOUGHT IT (caps are proven to repel flames right?) the 360 had more games that I personally wanted to play. I'm delighted that FF13 is coming to 360 as it means I don't have to splash out and buy a ps3. OH and to circumvent the comparisons I know that the ps3 version will be graphically superior and so on but it doesn't change the fact that I don't own one and cba to spend lots of money buying one.

I'd like to remind everyone that final fantasy started off with nintendo. Aside from that I really couldn't care less that it's also available on the xbox 360, it doesn't change ANYTHING.
This as well!

This only really matters if a majority of the people who will be buying the Xbox 360 version own BOTH an Xbox 360 and a PS3.

If it's people who only buy the Xbox 360 version because they only have an Xbox 360 and NOT a PS3, what exactly is the problem here?
