I'm not sure if it was the writing or the translations that were bas but either way the idea of Rinoa tricking the fucking SORCERESS to wear a ring that strips her powers is beyond me.

It was Rinoa that was planning it because she felt trapped and useless. I shouldn't remember but I do.

well, in Irvine's defense, he was the only one who knew who Edea was. and I think it'd be pretty hard to shoot the person who ran the orphanage you grew up in.

that said, FF8 doesn't sit well in my memory. the story was really really bad. and the second it lost all credibility was when they all realized that they grew up together and forgot because they used Guardian forces. especially since THEY KEPT USING THEM.

That amused me to no end. i always pictured it as Face plam "Oh yeah thats right we all grew up together" "the gfs must have made us forget." Small giggle "Thanks Irvine"

Yuffie joins you because she wants to steal all your materia when she has the chance.

Yes, but the question is, why do you get the option to suddenly invite her in. I mean, she tried to KILL me! This would NOT happen in Dragon Age, for instance (hint hint Zevran).

Also, if she wants to join you, "suddenly attacking and stealing shit" is a very peculiar recruitment application.

I didn't like Yuffie joining because she's a bubbly moron. When Zevran asked to join I just thought, ok, dude's got balls.

She's pretending to be a bubbly moron so she can steal all your shit.

Did you only play the first disk? He knew her for all of his life, that was the woman who raised him, if it where me, i would be a little put off too.

I played a little bit more after that, but then I just stopped caring to be honest.
