So i have come to notice that there are major similarities to these 3 well known games:
Final Fantasy 7
Metal Gear Solid
Resident Evil
The things i have noticed that they all share are mainly parts in their storyline. Here are some examples that i picked up:
All three stories seem to revolve around some sort of Genetic Experiment with the intent of creating a superior human race. (Monsters, Enhanced Soldiers, Zombies etc)
The experiments fail in some way or another but each have their 1 survivor, who is either a failure or success. (Sephiroth, Liquid, Wesker).
The failure/success goes on to take over/rebel against their creators (Shinra, Patriots, Umbrella) and go off on their own agenda to take over and/or destroy the world.
All final bosses seem to inject themselves with something and become monsterous (Mako, Nanomachines, Viruses)
[pretty much breaks down into a formula: Genetics - Experiments - Advancment of Evolution - World Domination]
some minor similarities:
In metal gear and resident evil both have injections, focusing on the neck. Also both Liquid and Wesker like to remove thier shirts.
Wesker and Sephiroth both learn they are failed manufactured monsters and turn against their creators (i found them both extremely similar in character when this happened, except sephy took more time in learning the truth and considering his plans)
I think its funny that the antagonists all set out to become super stronger beings yet are almost all stopped by unenhanced means. ... although now that i typed that, i am thinking it may not be true. Cloud is mako enhanced as well, and snake def has manipulated genetics. So maybe i'm just referring to Resident Evil with this one, because in practically every cutscene all you see is the hero carrying a pistol!! (what's up with that?)
Anyways, figured i would see if anyone else has noticed these similarities and/or others.
I do realize that many games out there are very similar to each other, including more that fall into the same plot as these 3. also its cool to notice that all 3 of these games may have some parallels in story but they are all different genres [RPG, tactical Stealth, Survival shooter(maybe not as many dif between RE and MGS)].
