The game is tossing sexism and stupidity in so many different directions and ratios, it sort of evens out. Your heroine may be an airhead with no concerns besides looks and social status, but the fact that they didn't even bother to give the boyfriends a real name, but just named them after their profession is equally bad. I'm not saying she ain't a gold digger, but he's not even a real person!

This is hilarious and sad at the same time. Hilarious because it is just so stupid. Sad because it is clearly aimed at younger girls who will take it to heart and believe this is how girls really act.
Of course they won't, just like little boys (and girls) don't go around shooting people because they did it in a game. Please stop feeding the Fox.

Its Kotaku nerd bating again, just leave them alone while they become the Blog of 4chan.
Sorry, but what is everyone's problem with Kotaku?
I've only ever been on it once and people seem to get really riled against it...
Also editing to avoid re-posting so hopefully my post will show up... :/

You can read several of their articles and they promote PREPOSTEROUS things. This is a smaller one, but I do have one to use.

There was a article to where the reporter supported 'Standardizing the PC with this Gimmicky Lab top' that wasn't his exact words, but it is very close. It was the Razor Lab top and the writer of the article went on about how this would 'standardize' the PC and make everything better. Which in of itself is stupid, then to DEFEND his stupidity just went "Guys calm down its just a blog, its my own personal opinion" but in the article tries to state it as the best thing to happen to the PC like he said was fact.

So in order to appeal to females a game needs to revolve the collection of worthless currency (which you use to get more money), have you explore a banal world, emphasising vapid relationships, constanly require changing between indistiguisable clothes, all so you can arbitary leveling to allow you defeat some nonseneical, shoe-horned in fantasy antagonist? Well at least it explains why Bioware has so many female fans I guess.
ha jesus you just never let a single post go without bashing bioware, do you?

for serious though, i didn't realize they had a huge "female" following? (IRL, i only know roughly 8 girls who "game", and out of all of them not a single one plays bioware games, only 2 of them have even heard of bioware, but they didn't quite care for the games, they generally stuck with final fantasy or kingdom hearts usually.)

Car Washer man looks dreamy, can someone give me his number? Of course, when I find a man who'll willingly pay more to be my boyfriend (because apparently there's competition?), you can bet I'll be all over that like chloroform on a rag.

Yes!
Perhaps 'Taxi Driver' can help you out there (because hey, Car Washer earns a suprisingly large amount)
IOr even better: 'Drug Dealer' and 'Pimp'!

I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me why most girls don't think all that much of gaming. I don't see what's not to like, there's such a variety of things out there.

Now I think about it, if I wasn't already a gamer, I sincerely doubt Lady Popular would encourage me to be one. After all, surely one of the points of gaming is a suspension of disbelief and immersing yourself in another world. I can plait my hair, in real life no less, any time I want. I can go shopping any time I want. I can't go and punch an annoying reporter in the face. Well, technically speaking I could, but I'd probably not get long to enjoy it before the police rocked up to have a word.

I'd have thought it might be different nowadays. Hell, I still remember when I was 16 and my careers officer at school asked me what I wanted to do. When I told her I wanted to work with computers, she looked at me and suggested maybe something secretarial instead? In what I consider to be a rather satisfacory two fingers up to her, I now work (shock!) on computers and for a games company. Take that, Mrs Hart.

Haha I just jumped on the game to kill some time while installing another game, my bf was unemployed and still managed to give me $50 a day!

Ah yes, men.
Their only purpose in life is to dish out money, where do they get this money?
We don't know.

I don't know the answer to that question...
Although, aren't girl gamers on the rise?
Like nearly 50% now or something...

I don't really know what i'm talking about.

Also, Mrs. Hart as a career advisor/officer/ thingy?
I HAD HER!
Well A Mrs. Hart, probably more than one...
