Finally, I have LIVE!

I've had my Xbox 360 for over a year now, but just today I got around to hooking it up to LIVE! I'm almost giddy with the possibilities - DLC for Rock Band and Fallout 3 and Mass Effect, and Braid and Castle Crashers! GLEEE!!!

Has anyone else gone for a long time without hooking their console up to the net, and then finally reached that glorious day when they do?

Yes, mine was about a week ago. Bought me some Wii Points and got Working Man, Baba O'Riley, Rock and Roll Band, Hysteria, and Snow ((Hey Oh)). Now I play virtually all the time online.

RB2 btw.

I was super excited when I learned that I was getting high speed internet.I was sooooo excited when I finally hooked up (headset was a must) and played RSV2 for many, many hours straight.

Mine was about a year ago; my 360 just RROD'd, and when they sent it back, they included a month of live, so I thought "Why not?" and love it.

EDIT:Oh, and Bring Down the Sky for Mass Effect is great.

I just decided to get a gold membership. Don't know how much I'm going to use it though, I mostly play offline, with people I know. For all I know, the people that I would play with over live could be robots. Of course, for all I know, maybe the people that I play offlie with are really robots! _>

That sucks, man, I feel for ya. Well, at least you have MGS4 and LittleBigPlanet and Killzone 2.

I've been on Xbox Live since the origional xbox. Last year my 360 RROD'ed and I was without my 360 for 4 months, all I had to play was a Wii and my old ps2

I recently got gold live (still havent paid for it, got two free months with the 2 replacement 360's i got sent when my one died ;-) ) And I finally used the cards after 6 months because I got - Left 4 Dead. Multiplayer is awesome and right now its pretty much all im playing.
And the downloadable demos are nice, but you dont need to subscribe for those.

I had my xbox, original, not 360, for about a year before being able to play Halo 2. God, downloading those mappacks was a *****, no?

I went about a year without it, now I can't play single player games unless it's splintercell. It all feels like wasting too much time if I'm not challenging myself in the arena of online MP.
COD4 consumed me for about a month, I did a prestige using nothing but the noobtube, one using the scorpion and one prestige in 2 days. Now I no longer play videogames......At least for the last 6 months. So I suppose it's good I got live to get me out of the timesink of gaming.

that's a matter of opinion.... you get some pretty killer loot at the end of the mission...

Though, actually, I feel that Castle crashers is a bit shallow. Worth 10 bucks if you got an actual JOB, but not if you're frugally saving every damn penny coming your way.

It's still an awesome game.

On the other hand, Live will make almost all your games 100% more AWESOME. The chance to make someone cry in competetive games is pretty sweet, and nothing really beats the feeling of, in Left 4 Dead, making through a difficult campaign with a good team. Even with a bad team, the game is still sweet.
