Nah, there's nothing good really. We used to have PR1, that was fuckin awesome. Odd crap song, but was dirt cheap, great music and we were allowed mosh pits.
The nights in Preston are what you make of them. Met all of my friends (bar 1 or 2 from school) whilst out drinkin at these places.
Just get drunk and talk to strangers. Soon have plenty of metal friends. Honestly, that's how I met alot of people I know.

The headline act is children of bodom, but I don't care. Ensiferum and Amon Amarth at one gig is too amazing.

So thats like maybe 1 hour on the train at a push.

I know someone else on here lives in Hull, UK because we were complaining about the Internet service.

Brilliant, another poor soul trapped in Hull, and you're right about the internet. Its plain awful.

What's it like up there? I keep meaning to hop on the train and visit the rest of Yorkshire, especially Hull and the northern parts, but I never seem to have the time to do so...

I live near Blackpool, which is only 14 miles away, or 25 minutes by train.

never been to blackpool..closest i got was saint anne on the sea..creepy name..creepy place..so how is blackpool?anything interesting to do there?

I'm probably not the best person to ask, since I don't really like it here and I'm moving down to Cornwall later this year.

I suppose it's subjecting though. I grew up here and "cut my teeth" going out, so I always found plenty of stuff to do as a teenager, though mostly revolving around drugs and drinking and getting up to mischief with a small group of friends.

The town itself is probably more interesting for visitors than residents. It's an OK place to visit but not a nice place to live, since it's pretty scummy and debauchery gets pretty boring after a few years.

Since I've moved back here 4 years ago (after living in Canterbury for about 7 years), I hardly "go out" at all, instead I just keep to myself in my quite village, which is a few miles away from the town.

Nowadays I probably see less of Blackpool than some Scottish tourists.

Blackpools gone down the shitters as of late, although they are redoing the centre, its alright for a night out as long as you watch out for the hordes of skinheads...

HOLY SHIT. I can't believe I just clicked on this post and right away saw someone who lives near me. I'm also studying at UCLan but I'm on the Burnley Campus where I live for this first year. I'll be in Preston UCLan for the next year and the year after. Hope I see you there!

probably u`ll see me soon...but preston is excruciatingly boring..i guess it depends what you want to do...

I'm on the combined honours course doing English, Sociology and Criminology. It's pretty awesome so far, I only have like 8 hours total of lecture time a week. Next year I get to drop a subject and I get to branch out and pick my own modules so it should be alright. Not sure whether I'm living on campus yet - think I'll just stick at home for the second year and if travelling to and from Burnley is too much of a ballache then I'll get a place for the third.
