i know this has been done before (because i posted it before).

now then, once again you must use your macgyver skills to get you out of another situation. you are locked in a bamboo cage on a island full of cannibals. they are currently boiling a pot of water and are looking at you with starving eyes. the bars are just wide enough apart for your arms to squeeze through. the only things that are within arms reach are a spear, some matches, a scorpion, a pair of pants, and a magnifying glass. you have five minutes to get out of the cage before they toss you in the pot. the only thing standing between you and freedom are a key lock, hundreds of hungry cannibals, and an ocean that is to wide to get across without a boat or some kind of flotation device. remember, use your inner macgyver.

I'm curious, does my answer work in your opinion? I'm asking because you came up with the scenario.

Well, I would use the magnifying galss to kill the scorpion. Then use it's stinger to unlock the lock...or just bash it with the spear. Also, use the spear head to cut the pants and use that to bind together the bamboo to make a makeshift raft. That would be after getting past the cannibals. I would prefer to sneak away them but I'd probably have to fight them off with the spear (if I had time, the spearhead would be tipped with the scorpion's venom) and using the pants to control their spears in the style of the net used on "Deadliest Warrior" (the episode with the gladiator). Um, does that work or no?

OT: you said "cannonball" instead of "cannibal"

Edit: once out of the cage, could I grab somethingelse, light it on fire, and attach it to the end of the spear while keeping the spearhead seperate (to use to cut the pants in order to make the raft). This would be so I would have a flaming spear instead of a poison-tipped one, seems more intimidating thus aiding in fending off the cannibals.

I grab the spear and use it to bash the lock off the cage. I then kill the cannibals with the spear and eat them, see how they like it.
Then i use the pants to bind the bamboo into a raft and make a sail, grab the leftover meat as provisions for my voyage on the ocean and sail out into the sunset.

Couldn't you find another source of meat on the island? I mean, just because they're cannibals doesn't mean there's not other sources of meat...or are you just going to eat them because that's what they were going to do to you?

this is why im asking the question, i want to know what you come up with, there is no right answer. if you look at the last one i did (just put find your inner macgyver in the search bar) you would see people came up with some creative ideas. btw, great idea, you would make a great Macgyver.

Couldn't you find another source of meat on the island? I mean, just because they're cannibals doesn't mean there's not other sources of meat...or are you just going to eat them because that's what they were going to do to you?

I am just eating them because thats what they were going to do to me. And besides, i have always been of the opinion that i should only kill what i'm going to eat (except bugs, those things just need to die because they creep me out)
