Finding Old Games

I'm currently in the process of moving, so I've been sorting some of my old possessions and whatnot. One old box I was looking through contained Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Kingdom Hearts II. Oh my heavens. Played them all over the past couple of days (started a new FFX game, and over 2 days have spent 24 hours playing 0.0), and I really do have to say, if I had to pick games to make the case that old(ish) games are better, these would definitely be in the top 10.

So my question to you [yes, YOU!] is:
Have you ever found (or re-played) an old(ish) game that you cherished, and fallen in love with it all over again?

I eyed a copy of Burnout 3: Takedown, the other day. I should REALLY play it again.

There was an Animaniacs game I had for the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis for those who... like to call it a Genesis) that I only found because it was sitting under the box for Flashback.
Even though I only got my Mega Drive working so I could try Flashback, after digging up Animaniacs, it's been the only thing to be sitting in the console.

My skill's dwindled something horrible over the years though. Can barely make it past the second level.

Ebay has everything, usually really overpriced but if you want it you've got it.

I do this with Baldur's Gate Trilogy every year or so. I remember it being very good, and then I play through it again with a different character (there are a bajillion combinations) and a couple new mods, and I love the whole thing all over again. I don't really get upset though that Bioware hasn't made anything as good since then, that's like saying Van Gogh sucked because he never did anything as good as Starry Night again.

Also happened to me with Planescape: Torment a few months ago. I played it several years ago, thought it was mind-blowing, lost it, mostly forgot about it. About 6 months ago I saw something that reminded me of it, so I bought it again and replayed it. God damn that is a great game.

I found Pokemon Crystal and lost maybe a week to it. In my opinion, one of the best Pokemon games yet.

Occasionally I go back to the orignal PS1 Final Fantasy's (7-9), other than that I have re-visited Kessen and the vastly underrated Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders.

I still always check the old / pre-owned section in Game shops for a hidden gem or a cheap bargain.

Chrono Trigger and FF6 when they came out on the DS were amazing and nostalgic. I played through Starcraft and Broodwars in honor of Starcraft 2. Sometimes I'll pull out the original Mario Brothers on the NES, take about 20 minutes trying to get it working and love playing through it. Starfox 64 and Conker's Bad Fur Day are both still fun to play.

It's weird how games just seem to evaporate. I can't find Parasite Eve anywhere.

I found and replayed Myst III a few weeks ago, and it's now in my top 3 games ever.

It's just... amazingly good. The storyline feels epic despite having been released over a decade ago. The graphics were an ingenious way of making a game that looks real despite the technology at the time only being capable of producing [a href="http://i.d.com.com/i/dl/media/dlimage/16/27/1627_large.jpeg"]this[/a] in 3D. The puzzles are at a perfect balancing point between easy and unnecessarily convoluted. It... makes me sad that they ruined the series by making the sequels 3D...

I was looking through my basement for something (I can't remember what) and I found my GBA cartridge for Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga. I replayed it on my DS and beat it within the week.

I'm also pretty sure I never found what I went into the basement to find in the first place

Such a great game.

Being a broke-ass college student, I've only been doing that for the past three years. I most recently replayed the ol' FFVII. It's fantastic every time.

No, wait, I most recently replayed Commander Keen 5. Best Dos game ever.

Shortly after we got our first proper computer I got Simcity 3000 for it. I loved it to bits in an instant. Then my sister decided it was fun to dance on the disk, and my mum refused to buy me a new copy.

Queue about 4 years later and I suddenly spotted a copy in some random store. I bought it without a moment's hesitation and loved it all over again.

Nowadays I keep discovering old games, the majority of games I bought the last 6 months were pretty old.

I have yet to understand the greatness of that game. The combat and especially stealth feels so...broken.
