Finnish Metal?

Okay, for my Electronic Music class, we need to make a powerpoint of popular music in a certain country.

My first thought: "Oh! I'll do Finland! They're known for metal!"

My second thought: "Wait a second! I don't know anything about Finland! OR metal!

My third thought: "Wait another second! Many people at the Escapist like metal! Maybe, by extension, they like finnish metal!

So, anyone know some good Finnish metal bands to work up a 15-20 slide powerpoint on? All I've got so far is Nightwish and Finntroll...
(It'd also be helpful if it was school-appropriate.)

Nightwish! They're the most well known metal band in Finland IIRC. They're Finland's favorite band! Gotta love me some Nightwish.

They're Symphonic Metal. Just because they don't scream and pump up constantly on the guitar doesn't mean they're not metal, they just concentrate on a more 'epic' sound.

OP: Does it have to just be metal? You could do rock with a heavy focus on metal, as its a side-genre of Rock. Some of these are rock, most are metal. Hope this helps. I could list more, but I have faith in my fellow Escapists to fill in my blanks.

HIM (Though there "metal" is debatable, they're the only Finnish band to go Gold in America and they're one of the highest selling Finnish bands ever)

Well Emperor and satyricon I can think of off hand. Talking about the black metal scene is also really fun, because while I don't even like most black metal bands, they're some really crazy stories. The old singer for mayhem killed himself, and when his bandmate found him, he took a picture, and they used it for an unofficial live cd. Oh, and they killed each other all the time. I thought they were power metal, like Hammerfall or Dragonforce.

Never heard either of those two bands, but I place Nightwish firmly inside the Symphonic Metal category. They've got a Soprano singer (Used to, anyway), they often use Keyboard, Violins, choirs, etc. Their music also tends to have that general 'epic' sound to it. That's more or less how I classify it.

Black metal is intense. Its a lifestyle, not just a music genre.
