We finally got a releae date for the game now (US not sure if UK date will be the same)

I'm quite thrill that it's coming out soon (less than 3 months to go!).

While I had already made a thread at which version you're going to buy (I'm going with Conquest) but which bundle are you going to buy?
The sqecial edition seen expensive althought I don't know the currency conversion from US to UK. Also I would need to work out if the special edition is cheaper when compared to buying one version and buying the other as download.
As for the DLC, if they're like Awakenning then I will give it a missed.

I'm quite bitter about this because no word was spoken about a European release date. This most likely means the worst case scenario of two month's up to half a year of longer waiting for Europe.

My understanding of the special edition is that it would be the same cost as buying all three versions(Assuming Revelations is also a 20$ DLC) but it comes with a couple bonus as well, so if you are the kind of person who would buy all three anyway it is probably a good option.

Personally I am not that much of an FE fan, so I will most likely buy one game and go from there.

I have no idea what the Australian release date is.
So we're most likely in the same situation as Europe.
As annoying as it is, we're probably going to get it late.

Apart from that, I would most likely buy the special edition.
Mostly because my 3DS doesn't have much memory, although, I don't know. Is it worth it buying a 3DS XL if I already have a 3DS?

I'm getting the full bundle, no question. I was wondering how I would get both versions, but getting all three for about 80 bucks is excellent.

I'll probably play Conquest first, but I am excited to see how each game differs. My order will most likely be Conquest, Birthright, then Revelations. Though I will probably need a break after the games. I put a lot of time into Fire Emblem playthroughs, I doubt I can three games all at once

Revelations is the true ending, no?
I believe so. Though I think it's more of a neutral ending, where you and your army solve all the troubles of the war, as opposed to just helping one side win.

I'm just bitter because what news I've let get through my self-imposed news blackout has been nothing but cringe-inducing to my ears.

People, while I know I can't persuade you not to buy FE14, I at least want you to look at it for more than just being a 3DS game. Hopefully even play the rest of the games in the Fire Emblem series besides FE13.

Unlike the PSV, most SD cards work with the 3DS. I have two, the 4GB one that came with my MH3U XL bundle and a £10 8GB one I needed to get SMT IV. Just use an old SD card out of a camera if you're worried about storage space. (Why the PS Vita can't do this is a mystery that will last the ages).

If you're thinking about getting a 3DSXL anyway, then as the proud owner of one I'd say it's absolutely worth it for the gorgeous large screen. Though it's probably more worth getting a new 3DSXL nowadays, especially if you're interested in Xenoblade Chronicles or the other new games that run at a beautiful 60FPS on it like MH4U.

Wait, does anyone know if that whole censorship thing went down?
I heard they were cutting story from the game, in addition to the lewd shit and while the latter doesn't bother me awakening was trite.
I want a good god damned story this time around or atleast one that won't make me cringe.
So if they did fuck things up on localization I'd like to know before I piss my money away

Err what?

I been playing the franchise since Blazing Sword when Marth and Roy were introdused in SSBM (how that game starring Roy never got localized I will never know) so I'm kinda familiar with the franchise abit (I even played Shadow Dragon that Marth originally star in eventhought that was a bad remake). I'm pretty much stoke for it for the new features and characters as I enjoyed the hell out of the new mechanic from Awakenning.

Question, I heard at least 2 of the kids from Awakening are characters in this new one. If so, does that make certain pairings in Awakening canon?

Also $80? Fuck that noise. Nintendo never does sales though, so I suppose I'll be going with the version of the game that /r/Fireemblem determines to be objectively better of the two.

And did anyone else think there was something off about the nintendo rep there? His voice seems to clear, like he said all the lines and then went into the sound booth and said them all again over the film.

Already pre-ordered. Don't even care. Now if only the Lucina amiibo would drop to a decent price.

You could say that I'm all Fired up for this game.

I'm still not ok with Nintendo 'Pokemon-ing' the series. Probably skipping this one. I hope it's good though, for those who do pick it up.

This is obscene. So they cut the game into three pieces? I may buy the whole thing, but I expect a minimum of 3x the content present in awakening to justify the purchase. Otherwise it's just more price gouging.

In other words, if this is Zelda: Oracle of Time/Oracle of Seasons then we're fine.

If this is Pokemon Red/Blue then fuck this noise.

Nintendo never does sales online, so that 3rd part is always going to be $20.

However, if we all just wait a few months then I have no doubt stores will start having sales on the 2 games.

The two games take place in entirely different locations for the most part, do they not? Along with different casts and plots. That would seem to answer that.

Well, it would seem to. Could be misleading, with more overlap than they've let on.

From what I've gathered the two have very different story structures. One is a straightforward story mode, where you go from point a to point b. The other plays more like Awakening where you have a giant map and can move around to missions as you see fit (whenever there's branchin stuff).

The stories are also in the same universe and shows the 2 separate sides of the conflict which could lead to some really interestin things.
