Firework accidents.

Well with halloween coming soon and people starting to collect fireworks. ("Yes am aware that they are illegal, in some countries but that doesn't stop people from getting them".)

So the question for this thread is have you ever suffered any accidents at the hands of a firework, it can be caused by yourself or by someone else.

Also if you have never been hurt by one but came really close then please share your story.

Am afraid to say that I have not yet been hurt by firework or have I had any close calls, but am just curious if anyone else has or were close to being hurt by a firework.

Edit: Yes I have used fireworks before but I new what I was doing and never did anything which. may have caused harm to others, so please no posts calling people stupid for using them.

No. I'm not so stupid as to play with the fuckin thing. A clue as to why you shouldn't play with them is that they fucking explode.

One blew up very close to me thank god for that leather jacket which was never the same again but at least I still have a face

Shot my friend in the face with a bottlerocket. Awesome. He chased me down the street while his face was bleeding, because before I did it, he said I better not hit him.

Every year my family has a Bonfire night party. Every year there is the one that goes wrong. The night's uncomplete without it. Generally it consists of the firework falling over and trying to get through the door, but mostly we shut it in time.

But once, it got in, I was crouched down as close to the wall as I could get, it whizzed right passed my head and exploded when it hit the front door. AWESOME.

Oh, so far no one's been hurt, oddly enough. Although that one, had it happened a few minutes earlier, could have been very disastrous. My mum had just been stood at the door, showing my then 2 year old brother some of the fireworks outside :O

Edit: Last year there was no firework disaster, but when me and my sister tried to get the bonfire going, we set half the grass, a petrol can (that I was stood right next to), and the surrounding hedges on fire. You had to see it to believe it. Poured petrol on pile on wood, threw the match on the pile of wood, nothing, nothing, nothing, noth-HOLYSHIT MOVING CARPET OF FIRE!

A firework didn't go off yet, but my friend thought it was a dud , so he went to get it and it blew up right next to him, he went temporarily deaf.

A firework exploded near me once. It was a shocking experience to say the least but no, I was not hurt.

Nope, never even heard fireworks on halloween before, on bonfire night we've only did it ourselfs once but we prefer'd the bonfires at the local parks(where they don't even burn the goddamn thing anymore).

a mate of mine nearly shot my eye out with one when we were kids. I didn't have any kind of safety glasses or anything, so I told them that I'm gonna pass on the "war" business. He shot me by accident. Another friend managed to get his underwear burnt. Fun times.

Well when I was younger my dad set a firework up in our back garden. It was a base and had 4 firing chambers, each blasted out a rocket.

The first fired up normally but knocked the base on the side, chambers facing us. There was a lot of us in the garden as we had friends from our street up. The second rocket blasted out and managed to miss everyone, but blasted through the kitchen window shattering it.

The third fired as we scrambled in through the door and hita girl of 12 in the chest. She was ok afterwards but burned a bit, and she now has a fear of fireworks.

We all managed to make it inside more or less safely as the fourth and final rocket fired out and struck the door splintering it.

I still love fireworks though.

oh yes! Yes I have.

- Got suspended from school for letting some off in the playground.

- Our bonfire once fell over and set fire to the garden fence, which the neighbours were not happy about. We also put afew in the bonfire and they shot out at all directions, that was pretty damn funny.

- Put one in the ground upside down and only realised after we lit it, it went flying along the floor into the crowd towards the house and under peoples legs then blew up against the wall.

- Told our friends dad we were eating nuts, and then threw some on the fire, after awhile we started changing them for small bangers and saying oh wow these nuts blow up. (he was sat reading the paper) so we slowly changed from small bangers to the biggest we had and half the fire blew out onto the carpet in the room.

- Held a rocket in my hand and held it off my balcony, the stick bent as it was lit and it flew onto the neighbours window sill still alight, then blew up. I ran away to my friends house for afew days.

I'm sure I have loads more, I fucking love fireworks.

That's all you need to remember, kids. Anything that explodes should not be held in the hands of anyone for more than, oh I'd say, 3 seconds?
