Hi guys, I know a lot of you are really good at this sort of thing so I thought i would ask my fellow Escapists:
I am building and AMD machine for my g/f for school. The point is a cheap computer that will do all her schoolwork and some video watching when she's bored. She really wants to be able to upgrade somewhat later. I chose these parts because it seems she could add better graphics later and can upgrade to a quad-core later on the same MB.
I have built my own PC and although frightening, it worked out just fine. I have a nice high end i5 -760 machine and i am very happy with it. This will be only my second build and I am not very familiar with AMD. I chose the AMD specs since after much back and forth, this was may more bang for under $500 CAD. Could someone check this for me? I'm VERY nervous about this one being that its for someone else:

Motherboard: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=26_340&item_id=036770
Graphics: Onboard nVidia Radeon HD 3000 (motherboard has PCI slot for future upgrade)
Hard Drive: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=15_210_212&item_id=037031
RAM: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_312_611&item_id=023354
Case: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=6_112&item_id=040160
Power Supply: 500W - In case
Monitor: http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=22_699_289&item_id=034328
Specifically: will this RAM work? Am I correct in using a VGA monitor or have i missed something? Any advice on this build will be greatly appreciated. Even just a "yeah that's fine" will ease my stress!
