Yep, pretty much the same situation as before. The group has their images used in Band Hero, and they're upset that you can use them to play songs by other bands/singers.

No Doubt -- which consists of Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young, and Tom Dumont -- alleges that it gave permission for its avatars to specifically perform three No Doubt songs in Band Hero, the group said in a statement delivered to Rolling Stone, but that, "without the band's knowledge or approval, Activision turned the group into virtual karaoke players by having them perform over 60 additional songs by other musical groups."

I thought there was only Guitar Hero and Rock Band?

Yeah, it's Guitar Hero moving to the full band experience, though they'd already done that. We have so many music games in this house now. Rock Band, Rock Band 2, Beatles: Rock Band, Guitar Hero 3 and 5. And just two days ago, my roommate picked up Band Hero and Legos Rock Band.

there are two possible scenarios -
1. activision outlined everything in contracts. no doubt and cobain's posse are just idiots (not to hard to imagine - recall gwen stefani and courtney love) and these lawsuits have no basis and should burn in litigation hell.
2. activision is really dodgy and was sneaky by breaching contract.

however, as only two groups have expressed annoyance, and they consist of ... well... idiots, i'm inclined to the first point.

Actually, when you beat Tetris for the NES, you can see Donkey Kong playing the bongos, Link playing the ocarina, and Samus playing the cello. Which means that, the future having been twice predicted correctly, there may be a cello music game featuring Samus in the future.
