Huh, actual space combat. Okay.

Well, for aesthetics, the game looks similar enough to BO3 that people are bound to feel like they're playing the same shit again. Especially those robot things, they look like they were pulled straight from BO3.

From a gameplay standpoint, it looks like CoD, with space ships. I think dogfighting could have some potential, but those zero-gravity infantry missions better be fucking sparse and not in the multiplayer. And that grappling hook thing looks exactly like the one in Advanced Warfare, you even snap their necks.

But what I really care about is the Modern Warfare remaster! It's been some time since I've played an authentic modern shooter (I really don't count Battlefield 4), and I loved CoD 4. The remaster actually looks pretty good, it doesn't seem to just be the PC version or an HD remake.

But if Activision expects me to buy this "Legacy" edition just for the remaster, they've got another thing coming.

I won't lie: despite my misgivings about going too far into the future, that trailer look pretty damn awesome (that weapons appear to still be kinetic instead of "Pew-pew!" lasers is a large contributor that impression). I imagine I'll keep roughly up to date with this, play a cinematic campaign for six hours and then pointedly ignore a multiplayer offering that by this point, is sure to be incomprehensible hyperactive insanity.

That's one thing the guy who originally leaked got wrong. It makes me wonder what else this Shinobi guy will get right, he leaked some stuff about God of War a while back.

Unless they're hiding a laser somewhere, Advanced Warfare had laser weapons that were MP only/DLC.

Wait Infinite Warfare?

But then what are they gonna do about the campaign? Since the war is infinite every impact you could have on it is completely meaningless because it's just going to go on and on and on and on.

Or the title is a a joke about how long we will have to deal with CoD.

Might as well have called it, Call of Duty: Halo. Frankly these yearly franchises to me have become little more than trash. I got Black Ops 3 with my PS4 (because I had no choice) and the fucking thing wont install single player, as if the game itself is trying to tell me not to bother with it.

These specticle FPS's have just gone so far over the top, that I can't be bothered with them anymore. How they sell millions every single fucking year blows my mind.

Call me crazy, but I actually agree with B-Cell for once. Waste of time.

You know, I am actually kind of on-board. One of the biggest selling points for me here is that there doesn't actually appear to be any of the exo-suit, thruster pack bullshit that I am already sick to death of in modern shooters. In fact despite the setting there doesn't seem to be much in way of 'future' tech that I know will later go on to annoy me in the multiplayer.

I choosing to be optimistic and believe this is a bit of a return to form that cuts down on the customization and mechanic bloat of many modern shooters. Oh, and that CoD4 remaster looks awful nice.

Yes, yes, run along and play Ziggurat or something. People who actually think CoD can be good are talking.

Is it me or is this less grimdark than usual?

Yep, this is definitely a single step away from being Halo. The only thing that looks interesting about it to me the remastered CoD 4, but I'm not this game just for that.

Hopefully they decide to separate the CoD 4 remake from this game. Trailer looks as generic as CoD trailers get and it's still an Infinity Ward game.

People are comparing it to "Halo" but honestly I don't see it beyond being set in the future/space with huge spaceships. The pre-343 "Halo" games don't look like this.

once CoD got rid of all the glorified war crime and paranoid xenophobic undertones it basically just turned into a mess of sci-fi tropes with no real identity of its own. now it is at the very least inoffensive but tha is about the only positive point. it was always bland but it was made to seem more important than it was because of the glorification of american foreign policy post 11/9-01

It isn't stand-alone.

Gotta disagree about the Halo comparisons (unless you're talking Halo lore pre-Covenant War, UNSC vs. Insurrectionists stuff). My first thought is Call of Crysis: Linear Edition. Not saying it'll be terrible or anything (though I haven't played a CoD game since the first Black Ops), but I get this real feeling of deja-vu. Specifically to the more boring parts of Crysis 2, when you're fighting humans instead of power-armored squid-aliens.

I...What the hell. Am I living in Bizzaro world?

Look, I normally have less than zero interest in CoD. I've never been interested in the plot, I hate the die-in-2-shots-camper-happy-instakill-knifey-multiplayer, I just have never liked CoD. Hell, the only modern military game that ever interested me was Spec Ops the Line and only after Yatzee AND Extra Credits gave it a recommendation (good thing too, I loved it).

And then suddenly they put out a trailer for a CoD game that ACTUALLY managed to pique my curiosity. 0_o This should not be possible. And yet I'm actually legit interested to see how this turns out. Assuming it's good and the single player isn't over in 4 hours, I might actually pick this up (likely on sale as I still have no interest in the multiplayer).

I'd have bought the CoD4 since i never played it ad hear great thing, but unfortunately it's not standalone. I only buy treyarch CoD games because i feel those are the best and skipping a few years helps me not get burned out.

Yeah, I saw it this morning.

I now have literally zero interest in this year's CoD now.
