For me, it was a Sega Saturn and was given Resident Evil. That's right, my Dad thought it was a good idea to buy his three year old son Resident Evil as his first game.

Funnily enough, didn't scare me. Two years later was given Resident Evil 2 for the Playstation (it was my Dad's copy but after he was done with it he gave it to me) and was terrified of it. I had a terrible father.

A hand me down Sega Genisis and a copy of Sonic 2.
Why does Sega feel like raping my childhood today though?

I think the first console that was more mine than the general family's was my PS3 I got a couple of years back. First game I got for that was Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, I think.
I had games bought for me before that, but I can't remember what the first was. Though I distinctly remember getting a Rugrats game for PS1 eons ago and getting really excited about it.

Mac (yep).

Harry the Handsom Executive. Rolling chairs and stapel guns vs the evil robot uprising.

I think very few people here will have heard of it.

An N64 that actually came bundled with both Banjo-Kazooie and Goldeneye.

Still the best game bundle I've ever seen.

While not a console per se, mine was a Commodore Amiga 500. Can't remember the first game.

As for a real console, it was either the Game Boy (with Tetris) or the Super Nintendo (with Super Mario World)

I do remember my first PC Game, though: Full Throttle. Ah, I miss the days when Lucas Arts actually made games that weren't Star Wars.

A silver Game Boy Pocket with Super Mario Land 2. I got far in that game, but I never really beat it until just a few months ago. As a kid I got discouraged by Wario's castle and just started new games just to play the easier levels and unlock all the secret ones. And then recently I was like "You know what? I'm 21, and I haven't still beaten the game that was my first purchase." And I subsequently did so on easy mode.

Cant recall. It was either an Atari 2600 and if it was th3 2600, it was either kaboom, berzerk, gorf, Combat! or Pacman. Or a Tandy TRS80. If it was the Tandy... I couldnt even tell you the name of the game.

A yellow Game Boy Colour with Pokemon Red. Hours of awesome fun were had, and it's still one of the best Christmas presents I've ever had.

First home console was the PlayStation, with Tomb Raider, Rayman and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. That was pretty awesome as well, and another good Christmas present.
