First Fallout: New Vegas DLC Exclusive to 360

The only frustration for me is A: I upgraded to a very nice new PC this year and am getting FNV for it, and B: my third Xbox RRODed a month ago (the day after buying Halo: Reach, in fact) and I refuse to shovel more money Microsoft's way for consoles that keep breaking the month after the warranty expires. I don't even use them that much....my stupid gamerscore is like 9,000 after five years...

Well, I am verrrrrry slow with playing these games, so hopefully FNV's DLC will be out for PC before I finish it.

Well, here's one reason why paying for XBL has benefits. They can afford to pay off game companies to host their DLC exclusively. Just like MW2's map packs.

Also, according to Nielsen research the Xbox 360 is the most widely used console on the market. So, who do you think publishers are going to side with when it comes to content distribution?

The only time I was ok with it was with CoD5 where the map packs hit consoles (or at least 360) a few weeks or month or so before PC. BUT, on consoles they had to pay for it and we got it for free on PC, so it didn't bother me much.

Erm, yeah. If I get this, I'm getting it for the PC after the clusterfuck that was the console versions of Fallout 3. And hey look we have these things called mods on the PC and they are usually free. I think I'll get over the 360 only 360 first other platforms later DLC pretty damn quick. Okay see this I have never understood. Why is Microsoft the greedy one in all of these stories? Last time I checked it was the greed of OTHER COMPANIES that lead them to take MS's money. See, if these other companies weren't so greedy, they would just say "No thanks." But they are the ones who are greedy, so they take the money in exchange for pissing off parts of their fanbase.

...Oh wait, yes I do understand it. Hating Microsoft is the cool thing for cool kids to do, common sense be damned.

Just because you don't think it's a good RPG doesn't mean that no-one does. And you'd have no problem with only one game on the main page if it was a game you liked.

Ah, yet another shining example where Microsoft pays off a company for exclusive, possibly overpriced DLC on a cross-platform title to bolster the 360 version to compensate for its lack of real exclusive games. By the way, how was that Grand Theft Auto 4 exclusive content, Microsoft? I hope that at the very least the ride on the absurd media hype-train was worth it.

I'm not a huge fan of brown/wasteland, but if I do ever decide to pick up New Vegas it will only be a GOTY edition for the PS3 or PC. DLC timing is especially irksome these days because it is as though they want you to know that there will already be more stuff to buy. Bloody teases. Nonetheless, GoTY editions have yet to fail me because everything is in my possession; no intangible data relying on internet files or Marketplace account history in case of an accidental delete or corrupted save[footnote]File corruptions especially concern me because that happened numerous times on my 360 copy of Oblivion[/footnote].

Well atleast that idiot Hines didn't do something stupid this time around and say that DLC would only ever be for the 360 like he did for Fallout 3. Seriously though Microsoft must shell out a butt load of money to make it worth while for Bethesda to do this stupidity again. I'm sure they will be losing a fairly large percentage of release day sales for the ps3 people that got burned by them of FO3. There is still alot of Bethesda hate lingering around the p3s community after all the bull crap they pulled with stringing us along about DLC for FO3.

I dont see why everyone is talking about mods, remember that not all mods are the same. A lot of them are very bad quality and you dont get good quality mods until a long time after release.

Lol people won't stop talking about Minecraft. If you don't like "big" titles like Fallout that's fine, but don't pretend like smaller games never get any credit (especially on The Escapist - if you can't find articles on indie games here then you're just not looking).
