How sad that the question is about games and the only responses have video screens.

First game I remember playing that started my love of gameing was Candyland.
Re-enforced later with chess. Then Dungeons and Dragons.

Anyone else have a gaming memory from before the microchip?

Hrm, I can't remember. I know that I used to play a fair number of games on my family's computer, but I can't remember for the life of me what they were.
I do, however, remember my first game that wasn't on the computer. Super Mario Land on my mom's original Game Boy. Followed shortly by Tetris. That was an amazing day.

Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. Can't remember which came first, and I don't really care. They both changed my life, and I'm still a devout fan of Sonic to this day because of them.

Beach Head on the Commodore 64. Shortly after that, either Pitfall or Warlords on the Atari. I feel old now.

The first game I ever played was Super Mario All Stars, Super Mario World. The first game on it I played was the 16 bit version of Super Mario Bros (it wasn't until recently that I had ever played the 8 bit original)

Frogger on dad's VZ200. He didn't have the cassette drive, so we had to type in the code every time we turned it on.
