First Impression of Red Dead Redemption- Buy or Pass on it?

My very FIRST impression was a pretty negative one. I thought they were just doing another sandbox game but this time its a rural enviroment; basicallly I was going to PASS that game. But now, I dont know, it starting to look like it could keep a person occupied.

It's a sandbox game and I'm a sucker for those types so I'll be sure to rent it when it comes out. As far as impressions? It's looking like a GTA western mod.

Red dead revolver was fucking awsome far better than GUN atleast, and next to a sandbox pirate game (which is being developed wooo!) a western was always among one of my top wishes. That it just so happened to be Rockstar and the sequel to Red Dead kind of freakin' sealed it for me. As for looks seems fine enough to me certinaly catches the western feel it seems.

It actually looks quite promising. It uses a lot of the same mechanics GTA4 did, and they've spent enough time developing it so it will either be a top quality game or a huge let down.

I love western games and good sandbox games, if RDR is a really good game then I will be delighted. After reading several previews concerning the game, it looks really good. There are a number of innovative ideas, fun gameplay, and a branching world with scripted events and numerous adventures to be had. I'm really looking forward to it.

It looks awesome but Rockstar's antiquated, frustrating game mechanics are starting to get on my nerves these days.

I've been waiting for a good Western game: hopefully, this one will do it for me. But if not, Red Steel 2 is certainly looking promising, and that's sort of a Western.
