I bought Killzone 2 and Street Fighter IV today and I've played Killzone 2 for a few hours and now I want to write something about it and I want to tell you what I think about it.

The game is very good and that's something I don't throw at every game I see and especially not to FPS's. It makes a good job at drawing you in with the visuals and the chaos which surrounds you. I would make a comparison to Call of Duty 4 but since I haven't played that I can't.

The controls which were rumored to be bad are very basic and easy to get used to. No action is missplaced but some of them are a bit useless or underused.
For example: I thought that the jump action (X button) is underused. Maybe it will become important later but in my play time I just used it because I could and not because I have to.

The cover system is a good idea but it's the only thing that's badly executed. They way you take cover is awkward and doesn't feel natural for me. Your character is just ducking infront of it instead of leaning against it with his back. It's still nice if you want to regenerate health since it's hard to hit somebody who takes cover.

Some of the guns you use are back from the first game like the M82G assault rifle and some of them are new or have been changed. You can only have two weapons at a time and one of them is always your handgun which has unlimited ammo. The other weapon can always be changed. Most of the time you will use a gun you know you will get ammo for which is in most cases the standard Helghast gun.

I haven't played online since there is something wrong with my PS3 and I can't connect to the internet. I wasn't really interested in the online mode anyway but I will fix that problem later. But what I was interested in was local multiplayer splitscreen action which you can't do! I don't understand why they took it out. I had so much fun playing with my friend against some bots in the first game and I really wanted to do this again but it's not possible. This is my only real problem with the game.

This is all I have to say about the game. I would give it a recommendation, except you wan't to play with your buddie in a 2 vs. 8 match.

Its a crying shame that more and more Console FPS' are taking out splitscreen, local multiplayer. Last game i can remember doing it is Resistance: Fall of Man. But I know I'm more than likely wrong about that.

Weird TV's these days are getting bigger and bigger and they start removing split screen...all those times wishing I had a bigger TV to play Crash Team Racing with my friends now seem...pointless.

I have to take issue with this. It's a warzone. There are constantly bullets whizzing overhead. You have to keep low to survive. Jumping around the battlefield like a hyperactive pillock is the quickest way to enjoy a hot lead sandwich.

It's not realistic, but if the character put his back to it, you'd spend the majority of the game facing the wrong way. In gameplay terms, the way it's done makes more sense.
