I've been interested recently in the various ways that seemingly stupid little encounters eventually somehow manage to lead to long-lasting relationships.
So in that interest comes this thread, asking you to elaborate on what happened the very first time you met your current partner.
I'll get the ball rolling with mine:
My roommates were throwing a house-warming house party, as they'd only just moved in, and invited pretty much ALL their friends round. Among them was the guy who now has to put up with my stupid shit. So I noticed him but didn't really speak to him. I ended up getting into a massive conversation with a group of guys about the show 'Mock the Week'. When the conversation died down they all fucked off and I went to get another beer for myself. As I closed the fridge, my now-bf slid up next to me and just said "so...d'you want pumped?". I immediately recognised this as him quoting Mock the Week, and we both just fell apart laughing. Which led to us sitting apart from everyone else involved in a fucking massive conversation until the party finally ended.
