My first job was at the local Burlington Coat Factory, basically a clothing store. I started out as a salesperson in the coat department. It was ok, depending on the time of year, I guess - it really sucked during the holiday season. People would just trash the place, randomly throwing coats they've tried on on the floor or over the racks. Then I went into the receiving area out back, unloading trucks and taking stuff out of boxes. That was good for not having to deal with asshole customers, but my boss was kind of a prick and it was a lot of work if there was a huge amount of stuff to process. Couldn't have been too bad overall, I guess - I was there for about 5 years before I quit.
