Trying out these forums, and I have a question that always bother me. What game is this:

played it a long time ago on my friends pc. It was an animated Point and Click game, took place in another world or a world belows ours, i know this because the manual or something showed the earth or planet was in layers like an onion, a world within a world. It had talking objects, well animated (at least it seemed at the time). I could never find what game it was. I looked, i dont think any Guybrush had any games with talking objects or other worlds.

Any adventure players know what game this is?

thanks in advance,

the wandering player

Hmm I'm thinking Discworld but I'm not sure. Anymore info?
Wait, do you mean like Terry Pratchet's discworld by that? If so I must play that game.

Might help if you gave a few more details. Can you remember anything about the protagonist?

Also the Disc World game is ok but kind of hard to control on the PS1, yes its Terry Pratchett and is otherwise awesome

There's been at least two Discworld based point'n'clicks. Think Tony Robinson might have been involved in the voicing of one of them.

Unfortunately I know not of this point and click game you mention... I'm a bit of a young gamer (19)

Personally, I find it helpful to know more about the visuals.
Since you have a mental image, perhaps you could share:

Color scheme? (Colorful, earthen, blue?)
Is it cartoon-looking, or realistic?
Who were the protagonists?
Is it scifi? Steampunk? High fantasy?
If you don't know the system, can you describe the color capabilities? How pixelated is it, and how advanced would you estimate the hardware to be?

Do you know anything about particular sounds or music?

Sounds exactly like Torin's Passage, a 1995 Sierra game.

Haha! This is my first post here, I joined up just so I could say exactly what Coldie just said!

Yeah, I used to have Torin's Passage on my Mac, you had to get to the centre of a world with seven levels or something to defeat a sorceress. All I really remember was the sorceress had a stooge called Dreep. It was by the guy who did Leisure Suit Larry.

Well, goddam sir. I think you might have done it. Thank you, kind sir. I have always wondered what that game was. Its always stuck in my mind. I think ill stay in this forums, i didnt have to wait a week for a response at all, lol.

Torins Passage. ALright, im going to get that game, definitely. Looked way better to me back then. lol, thats age for you......

It probably stuck so much with me because i didnt have a computer at the time, and it was the FIRST adventure game i saw. So it was pretty amazing to me at the time. So thanks, coldie. Cross that one off my list. Ive actually asked this in other forums, without a single answer.

Nice The Dig reference, though. I like that game. Another game i have to beat.

They are a lot of fun, however good luck finding them. And if you do find them, good luck getting them to run.

Although you can apparently use Scummvm to run numbers 1 and 2 ok.
