First thoughts when you hear germany?

Forests and Pine Trees, oddly enough. I generally tend to think of the environment or architectural style of countries rather than the people in them. When someone says Russia, I immediately think of Snow. When someone says China, I think of Pagodas and the Great Wall. When someone says "Saudi Arabia", I think of hot dusty plains and scorching heat. When someone says America, I think of Skyscrapers and Highways.
So when someone says Germany: Forests, Pine Trees and Brandenburg Gate.
As for my opinion on Germany: Modern Germany's great. No problems with Modern Germany. I like Modern Germany. Industrious. Efficient. Mostly quite friendly. That stands in stark contrast to my opinions of older Germany, which aren't so nice. But that's in the past. All in the past. I like Modern Germans. I have a few issues with your grandparents and great grandparents generation though. They... messed up. Big Time. But again, in the past. Moving forward, Germans are alright people.

Black Forest. My mum and grandparents used to go there a lot, and they'd talk about how beautiful it is constantly. Plus the TV was showing a series based there at the time, so I ended up seeing a lot even without going there.

I dont take all that stuff wit nazis making the bad guys in so many movies at all, its a little uncreative and isnt any kind of hate bad anyways?.
btw, yes i am tall, my eyes are blue and im blond, never worn a dirndl and i doubt i actually got enough chest for that.

Corn fields and forests. I lived there for a few months when I was a kid, and our house was next to a massive corn field and there was a forest beyond that, and it always sticks in my mind.

It's called a "Pickelhaube" (pick-hood) and the spike on top is shaped to deflect cavalry sabres while the metal crest on the front is meant to deflect musket bullets. Since you're not supposed to turn your back on the enemy anyway it offers you relative good protection for only a fraction of the weight of a full helmet. Efficient equipment like that allowed the Prussian army to be one of the fastest moving armies in the 19th century. I don't know which measurement is used for beer in the USA or in Canada but where I come from beer glasses are 0.2 liters. That would be 0.36 pints? 0.18 quarts? 0.05 gallons? OT: I am German so this question is kinda hard for me. I suppose when I hear "Germany" instead of "Deutschland" it's something like "here we go again, Nazi comments incoming" because that's sadly one of my main experiences when English-speakers start to talk about Germany.
In general it's more like annoying public authorities and questionable politics because "Deutschland" is the nation I live in. I kinda more identify myself with the region IN Germany I come from. A lot of Germans do, Germany is culturally very diverse.
Beer..

Oh and "I want to go there" because I didn't do Germany on my last trip through Europe except for an early morning tour of the countryside via train on my way to Amsterdamme. But I liked what I saw and I'd love to go back.

Why the Bloody Hell do I need to pay to use a public restroom? WTF guys? SRSLY?
