Hello Escapist, I was just wondering who among us like to fish?

It was a favorite summer activity of my dad and I picked up on it. I haven't gone fishing in like 3 years though. Usually, because we don't have a motor boat, we go fishing in a canoe. Sometimes we go with my Uncle who has a great fishing boat. Other times I just cast off from a dock on the side of the lake although I've yet to get one in the shallows there.

Anyway, do you fish? Are you very good at it?

[sub][sub]I'm not good at it but when we do catch fish we have delicious pickerel or jackfish or trout...[/sub][/sub]

Not really. We used to go crabbing regularly down the shore, and sometimes we would fish while the crabs got themselves into the cages. I wasn't particularly good at it, the largest thing I ever caught was a seagull while reeling in bait that was much too large. That was pretty entertaining.

One year we caught enough non-release crabs that we used them for dinner. Now I miss crabbing.

I never really got the appeal of sitting for hours doing nothing, in the hopes that a living creature will allow itself to be impaled through the mouth and hoisted into an environment where it cannot breathe for our amusement. My father loves to fish, so I went fishing quite often when I was younger. But I always brought a book and tried to ignore the actual fishing.

I like to think about things while fishing. That and talking to people is always nice.

Never gone deep-sea fishing or anything, but I'll go out with my friends every now and again to our local river
