Hih, tough choice.

House
The Walking Dead
Games of thrones
How I met your mother, when watching a whole season one after another it's actually funny, and I seriously care about the characters.
Dexter
Breaking bad, though season 4 I found BORING.

I see you mentioned Legend of Korra, Can you tell me what age group it is targeted for ? Is it a pretty serious show ? Also, could you tell if I have to watch The Last Airbender series ? Is that a pretty serious show ?

I enjoyed Homeland. Except for the last episode. That just pissed me off.
The Chaser's War on Everything. Aussies will know this show.
My other favorites have been said.

Well now...

-The Venture Bros - hot DAMN is that show awesome.
-The Flight of the Conchords because yes.
-The first season of Dexter.
-The Wire
-Lexx - Yo Way Yo.

By the way, should I check Fringe out? Considering I loathed Lost. I mean, I've heard good reviews but...

I really didn't like lost.

Started great, got tired of it but was fun for about 2 or 3 seasons, far above average.

People on this board keep recommending some things I've tried:
1) The wire. Best quote (paraphrase) "downside of the wire: ever since, when we see good show, we say `good show.. not as good as the Wire though.'" I'm almost done with season 1, some unusual stuff, particularly that we get to see the bad guys side of things. Solid B so far.
2) Sons of Anarchy.: This started off slow to me. I could barely watch it. I'm up to season 1, episode 10 and I'm hooked. Fantastic show. A-
3) Game of Thrones: netflix bluray queue. I'll catch up ASAP.

Well I've been getting into these recently:
House- phenomenal ending, tracking down some of the really early parts of the series right now.
Metalocalypse- love the art, Brendon Small is a great musician and surprisingly adept in his cartoons.
Archer- Of my god have I mentioned how much I love freaking H. Jon benjamin enough times?
Regular show- not exactly good but it definitely hits a bit closer to home for me.

Louie- Louis CK is one of the funniest men alive and his show follows his reputation beautifully. Lovely in a disgusting awkward way.

...you want something else?

Actually, even though it's a little old, I have to mention The Wire. That show killed my ability to enjoy television shows in general. Stringer Bell!

2. Supernatural
3. Dexter
4. Lost (yes I know it's not really "recent")
5. American Horror Story

Honourable mentions to Law and Order:SVU (it's the gift that keeps on giving), and The Extras.

I haven't seen near enough love on this. Fantastic, original show. I cannot wait for next season. I read they will often use same actors playing new characters in new situations. I'll have to lookup when season 2 starts.

Wow!

House did have a great ending. Have you seen the one with the 15 year old super model? Best medical show ever.
Louis was very good. Sadly, I missed all of season 3 Archer... hope it is added to Netflix streaming ASAP. Same voice actor on Bob's Burgers. I've started getting into it.
I'll have to look inot Metalocalypse. I think you are the first to recommend it.

I'm just getting into Bob's Burgers. My kids don't get it, but, if nothing else, that the Dad is the voice of Archer makes it funny to me.

They hated American Dad at first, but now it is growing on them.

I'll look into Person of Interest.
