I'm just trying to work out the point when the man in purple dies, sometime between when the 4th place (Fnaf 1) closes down and when its demolished. They did say it was going to be demolished in one of those paper clippings, right? Or did I make that up?
Anyway, it seems man in purple came back to destroy the evidence of his crime but something happened and he got trapped in the employee sanctuary. I still don't know why he'd hang around long enough for the kids to execute him, but he seems to be stuck there if the boarded up doors and windows are any indication.

I dunno, I like to have timelines of everything so I'm curious about this one.

I dunno, I like to have timelines of everything so I'm curious about this one.
Timeline:

Pre-FNAF2
Fazbear's Family Diner
The purple guy kills a child. This child goes on to haunt the Puppet. The only thing the child could see was Freddie as he died.

Freddie Fazbear's Pizzeria (pre FNAF2)
The Purple Guy is made into the first security guard. He uses a Freddie Suit to abduct and kill children. After four or so, the Puppet is now possessed by the first child who then "gives life" to the other four children, who haunt Freddie, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy.
Due to all the murders, the old machines are replaced by sexier, new Toy Freddie, Chica, Bonnie, Balloon Boy and so on, as well as the Puppet. All of them have identification tags to spot any child murderers and such, to protect the children.
Old Freddie wakes up during the Save Them minigame and finds blood and gore oozing from the Puppet's box, suggesting the Purple Man shoved the bodies of the 5 Missing Children in there. Freddie also finds that the blood leads to the Purple Man, who Freddie recognises in his security uniform.
By this point, the 5 Missing Children Incident Happens, and the Puppet gives their souls to the new toys; Balloon Boy, Toy Three and Mangle (who is tortured day in and day out by children tearing it apart and putting it back together, and spends his nights trying to put himself back together).

FNAF2
Same place.
Jeremy is now night security guard as the Purple Man didn't want to be left alone with the animatronics anymore during the night after the previous night's event regarding Freddie.
Animatronics are now more aggressive to adult staff, especially night security. They can't tell one night guardsmen from another.
All of them are gunning for Jeremy, who they think is Purple Guy.
Jeremy has to keep winding the music box to calm the spirit of the Puppet, the most angry of them all.
Rumours begin to culculate about the pizzeria, and the day shift opens up (presumably the Purple Man either booked it or was found by the police). Jeremy moves to day shift. They look for some other sucker to take over.
On the 6th night, Phone Guy informs Jeremy that they found the Golden Freddy suit had been tampered with, used and stolen in the case of kidnappings and murders.
Jeremy has to cover the day shift of Day 7, to wear his uniform and stand near the animatronic (presumed to be either Mangle or Foxy, probably Mangle) to make sure nothing happens.
The animatronic sees Jeremy as the night security near children and so happens the Bite of '87, where it is assumed Jeremy was the bitten as the animatronic thought he was the Purple Guy and wanted revenge, or wanted to protect the children, or both.
Jeremy is unable to finish Night 7, due to a missing pre-frontal lobe.
Fritz Smith takes night 7, but has apparently tampered with the animatronics and for the awful smell coming from them.

FNAF

They take the older, lower budget ones (as Mangle proved the new, fancy identification equipment may attack adults) and repair them for the new Freddie Fazbear's Pizzeria.
People complain about the smell and odour of the animatronics. However, there is nothing wrong inside them. This is the leakage from their possession.
Phone Guy takes up the night position, as he loves Foxy and the others.
He plans his retirement, and pre-records messages, for both FNAF1 and FNAF3.
On Night 4, he is presumably killed by Golden Freddy, and hunted by the others.
The management presumably only bothered to listen to Night 1 and thought everything was fine.
Mike Schidt takes over.
The Puppet continues to haunt Freddie and co, and directs them to Mike, still thinking he was Purple Guy.
He survives, and is fired on night 7 for tampering with equipment.
Freddie's Pizzeria is closed down.

Pre-FNAF3

Purple Guy sneaks back in, and destroys all three animatronics as he was haunted by them.
Each of them are lured, once again, but when they reach the safe zone, their programming stops them from entering. The Purple Guy ambushes them and destroys them one at a time.
However, once all of them are destroyed, all five ghosts are now free of their programming and chase the Purple Guy into the safe room.
The Purple Guy is panicked and runs into the room containing Springtrap, an animatronic that you can wear. There is a warning from Phone Guy that if you move too much, it may set off the springs and the animatronic will push back into place. This was, however, after Purple Guy's time, who was used to the simple Golden Freddy suit.
Pushed into a corner, he quickly dons the Springtrap suit, knowing he is now safe from the children as they will think he is an animatronic.
He laughs at them.
Too hard.
The springs jump.
The Purple Guy is crushed and killed inside Springtrap, who sits in a pool of blood twitching. The original 5 children are set free (Puppet and Freddie and co), having beaten their murderer.
Springtrap is now possessed, however, by the Purple Guy.

FNAF3
The place is re-opened as a horror attraction 30 years later.
They open an unopened room.
It contains Springtrap.
You can see that the corpse of the Purple Guy has now mummified, you can see his jaw at certain angles, and his eyes are clearly human ones. Why do they glow? Because the animatronic eyes were forced behind his. On one image, you can clearly see his mummified face
So, Springtrap is now hunting down everyone, likely driven insane. First person is you. The other 5 children remain in Freddie's Pizzeria to try and stop him, as well as attack you (can't tell the difference).
You do minigames to save each child by bringing them cake, much like the Puppet in FNAF2.
The souls of the last 5 children are set free.
If you survive, you presumably burn the place down to stop anything else happening.
But the parts of the animatronics are sold.
Including Springtrap.

THE END

Could it be that Mike and Jeremy were actually the two other killers at the other two locations? And the phone guy is actually Springtrap getting revenge on his two accomplices that left him in the restaurant to fend for himself.

Or possibly that phone guy himself is in cahoots with the animatronics and hires Mike and Jeremy (who were accomplices to the purple man) for the animatronics to get revenge on the two. And that possibly in FNaF 3 the employee was a day shift worker at one of the two locations and had heard of the stories that had happened at the night shifts and believed the animatronics were possessed by someone or something and wanted to learn the truth.

Or even since there is speculation that Mike was the one to get bitten for the bite of '87. But, it's said that the bite had happened on a child and that it was Foxy's malfunction. So that would mean that at the time (if the bite had happened to Mike) that Mike would have had to be a child at the time. Which would cause Mike to have a severe injury. Causing his life to possibly do a complete 180. So, in my contrast to my previous speculation, would mean he was not an accomplice to the purple man. So, instead once he has grown up and hears the rumors of the animatronics, decides to see for himself what the truth is.

Also, this could mean that in FNaF 2 that Jeremy was the rumored third accomplice that never got caught and goes back to the other location that the purple man did not go to and plans for another murder. And so, decides to do the night shift to see the layout of the building for his next attack.

Correspondingly, that could also mean in FNaF 3 the employee is actually the caught accomplice of the purple man (since he seemed to know so much on the murders even without the arcade games I still think he personally knew of the purple man and his disappearance) and had been released from jail and heard of the horror building opening and saw that they were hiring. Then decides to apply as to have something to do. And because of his old age hallucinating by lack of oxygen is harder on him than it would be if it was a younger aged person.

Wasn't there a child that was killed outside of the restaurant? There were 5 missing kids in FNAF1 so the kid in the mini game from FNAF2 that got killed outside is one that proceeds that. Pretty sure he's marionette and he's the one that "gave life" to the other 5 kids. Now in the ending in FNAF3 where their souls are set free I never saw marionette or ANY of the toy electronics for that matter. So the 5 kids in FNAF1 got set free but not any children that were killed before them. So I do think there is at least one more child stuck in one of the animatronics.
