8) People who defend Naruto as if is a religion.
What's wrong with Pepto-Bismal? Does soothing upset stomachs offend your religious beliefs?

OT:

1. Nazi-ism (I think we can all agree that the Nazis were generally bad)
2. Justin Beiber
3. Dane Cook
4. Every Guitar Hero game past 3 2
5. *reserved for Kinect*
It tastes terrible and I have never been able to take it without throwing it up. It looks and tastes disgusting.
But it's not supposed to taste good, it's supposed to sooth your nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, or diarrhea (Hey!).

I guess I just don't see your logic. Pepto Bismal has gotten me through a lot of rough patches of my life.
It is a terrible excuse for medicine. I know medicine isn't supposed to taste good, but it isn't supposed to taste that bad either! And the only way it helps an upset stomach is by spewing all the bad food out of you.

1. Religion - Pretty basic thing here. I suppose it wasn't necessarily an "invention" depending on how you look at it, but... Whatever.
religion is an invention, an invention of the mind, so you're right on track :D

as for me, i wish (even though i love it AND the xbox) Halo was never invented, because it started the whole trend of "realistic" shooters. it's just not worth it to not have more games like Unreal Tournament and Doom ruling the shooter scene.......

stick to stuff that won't fuck up the world without it
Sorry, couldn't seem to think up enough trivial things I hate besides that first one (and even then that's a throwaway; Scott Pilgrim convinced me you could, given proper directing and the right approach to special effects, make a good live-action adaptation of a sillier shonen manga). Besides, people going on about political correctness really does piss me off.

In my defense on the "fucking up the world without them," though, I kept in mind that guns work as a "great equalizer," moving humanity away from dependence on brute physical strength.

I also want to go on a slight rant about the people who say Rap.
Rap is a far more expansive genre then you guys probably know, Rap as a vocal styling has a technique, it may not be traditional singing but nether is metal or screamo, and im sure some of you guys are gonna bawl about how I compared Metal to Rap and Screamo, if you describe Screamo as people who scream with the music then screamo is a far more expansive genre as well.
Though Screamo is actually a sub-genre of a variety of genres that use screaming.

/Rant

Yeah I say Religion as a Device as well. Mainly because even in Christianity GOD never intended for that....
If anything Religion is a man made institute filled with good intention, but turns the worship of God into a competition and at times a mundane and drab ritual that eventually drives a number of people away from God rather than draw them to him.

God: So you shall spread my word and help thy fellow man on the path to righteousness.

Man 1: Ok sweet....Hey what if we make an exclusive sect devoted to prosecuting and recruiting those who don't believe our every exact interpretation of the Bible?

Man 2: Hey that's sounds like a great Idea...Only Mine is Better!!!

Man 1: NU UH!! Mine is!!!

God:.....*Sigh*....I give up...Seeya in a few millenium when you kill my son....Ungrateful pricks.

1. Guns and bombs. Seriously, they are designed for killing other humans, how messed up is that? Even swords can be used for play-fighting (blunt weapons, padded armour and good spirited fun, get these three things and a parnter and away you go).

2. Capitalism. I mean the american kind, where the bottom can't be stuffed working up because of how ridiculously hard it is, and the top don't have to work hard at all because they pay other people to make them more money.

3. Cars (motorbikes are fine). They are multi-tonne pieces of metal travelling in excess of 60km/h, controlled by a bunch of impatient drivers through the use of three pedals and a wheel. I mean seriously, half the people I've met don't even care that they are in control of something that can kill dozens of people with nothing more than a brief lapse of concentration.

Now are there any other major ones I haven't mentioned ... oh yeah, most offense-based inventions. I mean, nuclear power is pretty good, but we had to blow shit up with it; fire is helpful, but we had to burn people with it; bows would be handy for game-hunting, but we had to use it for war. The list goes on but I can't be stuffed listing every invention that has been used for harm when it could have been used for alternative purposes.
If all of what you said were true, we would still be living in the middle ages.

Its good to see someone here who doesnt think there cool and edgy by hating religion as a whole.

I mean is it so hard of a concept to think that we are all praying to the same god? and If god was a loving god would he really condemn his children to hell for victimless sins such as homosexuality.

The bible has been interpreted, translated and edited for a little under 2000 years, should we really just accept everything it says as law and not subjecting it to logic.

I don't mean to be exclusionary to other religions, I've just had to argue this to Christians for the most part.
