Interesting concept, although I can't help but frown at such terrible ship design.

I mean, seriously, a big glass sky-deck? Have we learnt nothing from the Geth about structural integrity?
I think it's safe to say it's part of the immersion factor. It's one thing to stand in a dark room and give command to starships. It's another to give commands and them then look out and see them fighting.

The article I found posted below, which actually includes a very brief pre-Alpha preview of your ship, suggests that this isn't simply an RTS with the bridge replacing the usual top-down view. Your extremely large capital ship, at least as far as the aforementioned video goes, seems to be completely explorable, with multiple decks and elevators, and even what may be some launch bays. The video also suggests you can take a more direct hand in controlling your vessel, by operating its helm station. As mentioned, this is an old video, so it may be showing stuff that has since been cut for one reason or another. But if it hasn't been cut, and the first person's perspective allows for more direct gameplay as well as strategy... Taaaake myyyy moniiiiies...

EDIT; Apologies, The video actually involves the player moving from a Starbase onto his ship, so the vessel likely isn't as large as I initially thought. The fact that there are inhabitable space station's just makes me more excited though. :3
