we're not going anywhere, we like the site, but the flaming needs to stop, and to 'just not make threads' is not only not a bad idea, its absurd and offensive to me as both a person and a fan of anything.
Get serious, you keep bringing up MLP and people will flame it because they don't like it. If COD,Halo,Bethesda,or any other game is at risk of being flamed, then so are you. Your not special at all in this regard.

As for you being offended,

-.- hence the suggestions, or did you miss that part
also, find a video that hasn't been spammed :p

Best way for pony threads to avoid turning into flamewars is to not start them in the first place.

I've got a better idea, stop creating threads that say the same shit.(not on about this thread, this one is actually something completely different)
Its the main reason why people are getting pissy at threads regarding MLP. Most the topics created have been roughly the same:

Who likes MLP?
Why all the hate for MLP?
Any bronies here?

Those have essentially been what the majority of the threads regarding MLP have been about.

Also stop calling yourselves bronies, that will also probably help.

You forgot:
Who is your favourite pony?

It's a very important thread. Serious business going on in those.

Is it just me or are 'Bronies' turning into the new 'Furries' in terms of whiny annoyance on the internet?
I can't wait for the dumbest members of that exclusive club proclaiming their wish for being considered as a new species (though their alienating behaviour sure helps their case)

As people have mentioned, this is not a MLP fan site, but a gaming/geek culture site and while I agree that a lot of geeks go bonkers over MLP (and yeah, I'll even admit it's fun and that I'm watching it), there are people who do not like a series geared towards young girls and being a grown-up means that you have to deal with them in one way or another, just like all other community members.

But really, flame wars always need two sides. If your sub-community isn't able to ignore trolls and decide that they need to react to every single provocation and give attention-seeking whores another boner, then I can't help but seek fault within the bronies. Still, this is true for all fanboys so don't take personally.

This thread is the same as nearly every other thread about pony threads. Maybe, just maybe, people should stop making threads about threads about ponies. Because these types of threads are getting more numerous than the pony threads they're about.

Seeing the size of our group there should be more of them.

I do wonder, would people still get annoyed if we we're to post threads about the show instead of the regular.

'Who Likes MLP'
'Why do people hate MLP?'

Maybe a forum section? Or atleast a damn sticky about the group and how people get all whiny when you make a thread about it.
Even if there is only a Bronie flood like once every two weeks.

It's that kind of attitude that makes quoting people kinda pointless.

'Sod off '...
sheesh...

Where did I say 'just not make threads'? If ponies are what you're into, fine. If you want to complain about the damn things and make a new thread every few hours, go to the User Group. That's what it's there for, eh?
ah, i miss-read, i saw it as 'just don't post' sorry :(
the issue with keeping it 'in group' is the flow of chat, it pretty much imposable to fully keep up with, like ever, due to the sheer number of people, think crowed room, and every ones talking at once. donno about you but i can't ever keep up with that

And here I assumed that all the MLP threads were just a veiled excuse to spam pithy pictures and memes.
But you actually want to reduce the number of MLP/Brony threads in general discussion?

At least that shows maturity. Go for it.
In-jokes and memes aren't funny when they've become overdone.

Actually I wouldn't mind some privet threads. I need gardening tips.

This set of suggestions begs the question: If one only wants to make a post accessible to the Brony community, isn't there an MLP fan site where a post would be more likely to reach the right eyes? Why post on the Escapist?
Ding ding ding. This here is the million dollar question folks.

I'm 100% sure there are sites by now that are completely dedicated to all your pony discussion needs that AREN'T this one. If you still like this site, JUST USE BOTH. This isn't rocket science guys, as a minority of the Escapist community, albeit a whiny one (with some exceptions) you aren't going to make any changes here. Just find another site to talk about ponies on and while visiting this site for everything NOT related to ponies.

EDIT: It took me all of 20 seconds to find you a god damn site to migrate to.

/Short rant about the short-sighted arrogance of some bronies.
if you hadn't missed the point to start with i wouldn't have been hostile.

'just don't post' is NOT acceptable, at all, regardless of the reason(so long as it doesn't violate the ToS for the forums) another thing, I will never ok with some one telling me to not do something based solely on THEM not liking it. I couldn't care less what you like or don't like until you get in MY face about not liking something I do.

also, have you considered just not clicking the link to the thing you don't like as starting something? just a thought

I'll stop hating on MLP when people stop spamming it in my face. Also "brony" is a word 4chan made up by stitching "bro" and "pony" together. If you're like me, you'll realize "bros" are the lowest denominator in any social circles and so "brony" is a pejorative term for MLP fans.

I'm also doubly sick of putting up with people who think I'm secretly in love with the show whenever asked about my opinion of it. I sincerely fucking hate it because of the quite frankly RETARDED hype. It's the worst I have ever seen in my life, it tops even Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Skyrim, anything. The popularity of MLP exploded literally overnight all because of 4chan.

I can't see why people aren't content to just laugh, or make their own threads in which they can share the jollity created by the fact that grown men are watching little girls' cartoons.

We don't care if you like MLP.

We don't care whether or not you go anywhere else.

People are gonna complain, there's nothing you can do to stop it. It's like a force of nature.
What annoys me personally is that the people(some, not all)who like MLP make it out to be such a big deal. Not the show itself, just liking the show.

Seriously, stop deliberately bringing attention to MLP, the fact that you like it, the fact that some people don't, the fact people flame people for liking it and so on and then you'll have less people getting up in arms about it.

It's a cartoon with ponies. Big fucking deal.

EDIT: I'm aware that this could be seen as kind of antagonistic but I'm just trying to put it as bluntly as possible. Hell the only reason I haven't watched it already is that it's on at 7am where I live.
This.

Every word of this.

It's a cartoon written for little girls and it is about ponies.

We don't fucking care if you like it and your (the figurative 'your', here intended to represent the 'bronies') incessant "Y U B HATIN" is, in and of itself, trolling.

Every fan group deals with trolls.

EVERY fan group.

Fantasy fans deal with it.

SciFi fans deal with it.

Sports fans deal with it.

Literature fans deal with it.

Every single, and i do mean every single fan group deals with it.

You are no different and not remotely deserving of special treatment.

If your feelings are easily hurt by people suggesting that perhaps your love of a pony-centric cartoon designed for little girls is somewhat less-than-manly, maybe the internet is not the right place for you.

Either suck it up and ignore it, or stop bringing attention to it.

You are not different.

You are not special.

You are a fan.

Plain and simple.

The same as any other fan

There is a button that ignores posters. My recommendation is that you use it.

The guy's just trying to come up with some admittedly good ideas that would probably benefit the Escapist as a whole, and yet, as usual, I see the same posters in here kicking up a fuss like every other thread is about ponies. I still don't understand why you waste your time coming into these threads and picking fights; what exactly are you trying to achieve? Just ignore these threads. This is the first pony-related thread I've seen in a fortnight. This is not clogging up the Hot Threads list, this is not a disproportionate use of the Off-Topic forums, and there are certainly worse topics out there at the moment. I have no real interest in Skyrim, but I don't go wading into the topics saying people should stop talking about it and stick to a User Group, even when I saw one asking people how many types of cheese they were going to eat between now and Skyrim's release. Just leave the thread alone, and it'll either fall off the main page, or actually become an intelligent discussion, like it was meant to.

This is why i classify 'brony' threads as basically just trolling, it is, to me, nothing more than people screaming "YEAH I LIKE PONIES WHAT OF IT AND YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS WRONG FOR NOT LIKING THEM".

Honestly, I have strong doubts that most of the 'bronies' actually even watch the program.

See, the thing, is, I NEVER do this. I NEVER enter into 'brony' threads and decry the program, the bronies, anything about them.

I invite you to check my post history, if you like.

This, here, is the first I have weighed in on the matter.

I am not asking for special treatment, I am merely suggesting that the bronies stop thrusting their massive victim complex into my face.
