Lets talk about the inevitable flame wars we have all and will all encounter at one point on the internet.
They tend to pop up every now and then, and while they are hate spewing, vitriolic cess pits, they can also make for great entertainment.

Please, don't mention any personal names of forum goers, but tell the stories of some of the nastiest flame wars you have witnessed.

My personal favorite was a flame war that erupted over the development of a game mod. Basically, the project had fallen apart due to the team's lack of work ethic, and one of the beta testers gave his final word on the product. His response blew the forums apart, causing a widespread conflict across multiple websites dedicated to the game for which the mod was being produced. Moderators from other sites were threatening to blacklist people from their sites and waging war with the mods of those sites.

It was a big slugfest, brutal, but an absolute riot.

I pretty much go into flame mode hardcore every single time I talk about religion though... there's something I can't comprehend about other people's logic, and I just go kinda nuts.

Yeah, that was the basic gist of the whole mod conflict, albeit with slightly more articulate insults and swearing. Still, pretty much this is what happened.

But for a real answer, any flame war instigated by a troll. The entertaining part comes when someone who doesn't realize they're trolling gets involved.
