It seemed like they weren't even trying anymore. A lot of the songs sounded very similar with hardly any variation. I wish they would've built upon their heavier side as shown in "Love Metal" which is by far their best album.
Have you listened to Venus Doom? That went back to the heavier sound. Might be right up your alley.
I just got done listening to a few songs, it still wasn't very impressive. I want more songs like "Buried Alive By Love" or "Soul On Fire."

Same goes for any Pink Floyd album...even "Piper at the Gates of Dawn".
You under-rate Piper dude, it's Floyd's second best non-live album! (Best album is Live at Pompeii, then Wish You Were Here for those wondering)
Oh not under rating "Piper" at all, man. In fact I was in a band that used to cover "See Emily Play".

I'm just saying that I like the Syd stuff as much as the classic line-up stuff.

(Though I'm more partial to "Dark Side", myself (probably because I had a "unique herbal experience" the first time I heard it.))
Ok, sorry. I thought you meant "Same goes for any Pink Floyd album... even Piper at The Gates of Dawn and Ummagumma which are not as good as the rest but still good".

Views on Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins
You basically summed up my view of Nirvana and the SPs.

I don't really have one, even my favorite bands/artist have stuff I don't like and would rather skip than listen to. The only one I can think of are the two instrumental albums by Bozzio, Levin and Stevens; "Black Light Syndrome" and "Situation Dangerous". They aren't technically a band but I like everything on those two albums and, as far as I know, that is the extent of their collaborations. I would actually recommend them to any musicians out there - particularly guitarists, drummers and bass-players.

Then there are other artists who I can't say have bad songs, but their songs aren't my personal favorites. For the most part Taylor Swift is an enjoyable listen, but I can't say I prefer her genre of music.
