Flukes

I was just playing the level "Wolverines!" in modern warfare 2 on veteran. I was at the point where you have to shoot down the second enemy chopper with a stinger missile, but the missile is on a rooftop in a building full of enemies. Naturally, I didn't want to do this, as on veteran, the hardest difficulty, it would be really, well, difficult. As I was about to leave cover, I noticed the chopper had just been hit by a misfiring enemy RPG, shooting it down! It was really cool.

Anyway, what are some cool flukes or accidents that have happened to you while playing games? They could be beneficial or harmful, whatever, I just want to know if anyone else has such a cool story.

Not to me, per se, but still very awesome.


For me, It got the last two kills of the match. We had two kills to win, the enemy had one. I turned a corner, and sprayed one guy in the face with my M16. I was then forced into last stand by the other guy. While I was in last stand I threw my knife at him and killed him.

I then died, but it was awesome.​

There was this one time when I was playing C&C: Renegade. I was at the low ground and fired a rocket at some guy and he just walked out of the way. Suddenly, this guy walks into view from the top of the hill and the rocket hits him in the head.

Another Halo one

Went into the kitchen to get some water, and when I came out I saw an enemy walk right past me. He didn't even notice me in the corner. Heheh

Forget what the name of the mission was, but the MW2 Spec Ops mission, where you hold off 5 waves in a strip mall, the predator drone took out the helicopter on the third wave, and I accidentally took out a second one with a totally random burst from my M240.

Star Wars Battlefront 2, Mos Esley, Assault.

I was playing as Grievous, a Mace Windu and Obi-Wan running attacked, but I jumped (As I only saw Mace Windu running at me) and the two of them hit each other which killed them both.

Quite funny really...

When doing spec ops there is a mission where you have to survive 5 waves of Russian soldiers, they get a predator drone that fires missiles at you if you stay outside for too long, but it's a bit innaccurate, me and my friend took turns running outside to get spotted by the drone, we'd then run back in and watch the missiles rain down on it's own troops, it even took down 2 choppers and an armoured truck for us!

OH and in Red Faction: Guerrilla, I was inches from being killed by a whole pack of EDF, so recalling something I'd seen on Youtube, I grabbed a fast little car, went into a crater and used the lip as a jump. I bailed in mid air just as the car caught fire, hit the jetpack while I was flying through the air, and flew superman style straight into a canyon. Almost escaped, but awesome nonetheless.

I was playing halo once and two enemies charged at me from my right and left. I quickly ducked and they both shot each other. Most amazing moment for me ever.

A close second would be a stun grenade that killed an enemy over 50 feet away. It hit him in the head.

I somehow got in a position in Ninja Gaiden 1 where I knocked out the gunmen of a tank and the main turret froze and didn't shoot me, allowing me to promptly blow it to hell. i then proceeded up the elevator and got my ass handed to me by a helicoptor

Terminal in cod mw2 i was just screwing around completing all of the challenges for the M4A1. I needed to complete the noob tube one to get the under barrel shotgun. I was on that roof that you climb up a ladder to get on and noticed a guy was in the room below me so i walked off of the edge spun in midair and shot the grenade launcher into the window getting a direct impact kill. It was pretty cool but i'll probably never do it again

I've always considered myself a reasonable sniper in games, but I had one in Mass Effect which shocked me.

The enemy was far enough away that their return fire wasn't even reaching us, my companions weren't firing, and the rangefinder on the sniper rifle had cut out (I think it stops somewhere around the 200m mark)

All I could see was this tiny moving speck in the very far distance, and I capped it in one shot, which must have meant head shot at that range. The only way I even knew I'd made the shot was because the status change of more XP and equipment alerted me to it. Sure I had been trying to challenge myself, but come on.

I was prepping a flash grenade for an enemy-controlled room in Vacant, when my team mate runs in front of me just as I toss it. Apparently, he got shot by the enemy just as I threw the flashbang at him. So, the enemy damaged him and my flashbang killed him.

Team Deathmatch

Just one kill away from getting my AC-130, my friend's supply crate drops and kills me. According to him, it fell on the edge of a roof (map was Karachi), then tumbled down.
Edit: Needless to say, he has since been removed from my friend's list.

Oddly enough, my usually retarded Team-mates shot down that chopper on Veteran, but wouldn't even look at it on normal.

Had a good halo3 multiplayer one. On the pit I was chasing a guy when he jumped into one of the air lifts, I managed to stick him with a sticky grenade as he was nearing the top of the lift, just in time for him to drop down next to two of his team mates so it killed all three of them.

Had a bad Halo 3 multiplayer one too. On isolation on a rockets only match I spawned next to my friend who was on the same team. We both ran forwards for about three seconds, jumped and fired at the same time. Because of the angle the rockets went off right infront of us killing us both giving me a betrayal and suicide. Put us instantly 2 kills behind, but it was very funny. Kept a video of that one.
