And if the website isn't working, here's the image called "Four".

Brightening the Image reveals the word "Nightmare".

So, what do you guys think? You think this will be good? Do you think it should have stopped after the 3rd game (like me)?

Discuss!

it should have stopped at the first game.

i'm sorry but it was cool and interesting and different the first time but the horse was dead, you shouldn't keep beating it for another 3 games

I had a feeling there was more on the way when I randomly checked into Scott's website a few days ago, and Freddy's Hat was suddenly gone. I figured it was either a reference to the supposed FNAF movie, or another game.

Personally, I am a sucker for these FNAF games. I love Scott's designs, the interesting background story to the games, and what seems to be a natural talent and grasp of creating something genuinely scary.

But, where could the game go from here? I read about the backstory to FNAF3 and how in the good ending, the spirits of the children in the other animatronics were freed and... I forgot what happened to Springtrap. He was sold off or something? I guess there's room for a sequel there.

But, from that image, it looks like something else is going on. Is that a Freddy animatronic becoming an eldritch abomination? What the fuck...

Meh. He gave £200,000 on a whim. I can put up with him trying something new.

And we really do need him to give us a few more clues so we can figure out exactly what the fuck happened, because we are still debating. Just let us meet the Purple Guy, finally.

We're going daemonic? Good.

Last chapter? Good.

It'll also only be £7, so he isn't exactly pushing it hard.

Have you played each game?

First game was a hide and seek game with limited power to defend yourself.

Second game had no real defence beyond keep this music box wound, also keep an eye out, flash your light and put your helmet on sometimes. It was a siege game, basically.

Third game had your character versus a single villian, but you had to contend with malfunctioning equipment, trying to not make noise, distracting him with noise and dealing with hallucinations. A stealth/keep the plates spinning game.

They had different enemies, each game had different mechanics, all expanded on the story in a new way... They're not that similar.

edit: I was reading something on tumblr and someone pointed out that this guy has 5 fingers like springtrap so this could be golden Freddy or maybe even shadow Freddy which would explain the lovecraftian look

Ahh I see. Well then potentially it's a new genre to be explored and we should forget the story and look to explore this genre in a new way.

Bring it on.
I'm happy for Scott, he can milk this thing as long as he wants as far as I'm concerned.

I think he's just milking it because of its popularity with Youtubers especially. It will dry up eventually and how would you continue the story when all the original animatronics are fucked up?

I was excited when I saw videos of the first game. I loved the premise and felt it could be an incredible horror game. When I played it I quickly found the game too shallow, too focused on jump scares. While disappointed, I was excited that it was a huge success so it could eventually have the budget for something in the vein of Amnesia or Penumbra. Alas, all sequels have been the same game in a different setting. I'm hoping a more ambitious title can come from the series but at its current stated it's not for me.

Euuuughhhhhhhhh, I just don't know.

I'll wait to see what it looks like after it comes out. I skipped FNaF 2 entirely because it just seemed like the first game but bigger, which means it's too fucking hard. FNaF 3 did look (and was) different enough to warrant my purchase. I'll just have to wait and see, given that as of FNaF 2 the story is only revealed through hacking the game's code to figure out what to do.

Hey guys, FNAF just...oh, dammit. Well I though Scott said the third one was the last one, but for some reason I do like the hype over this particular franchise. Usually when this happens Youtube starts to piss me off, but I really like watching this one. Mostly it's the lore I suppose. Yeah, I basically just want to know more about the characters, and what really happened. The gameplay from two onward is terrible so I watch Mark do it. It's a shame we have to wait for what could be thrown together by July, but maybe Scott is just pacing around desperately trying to find an end to the plot he dug himself into.

And something I'm surprised none of you have mentioned: How the number "87" pops up in the tab name.

Guys.

It's happening.

The Bite of '87.

Oh look, Friday the 13th reference. Neat.

I really don't care about this, just wanted to share that observation.

I am looking forward to Five Nights At Freddy's Five: Nights At Freddy's.
so will the 5th one involve a man dressing up as Freddy going around killing people by stuffing them into suit's and end with have mike putting on a Freddy suit to go kill people

6th: will pretend that never happened and give use the freddy gang back

7th: they will fight a psychic chick

8th: they will go to Manhattan and by the end they will be moral children again(which will be ignored)

9th: will be made by the people who do the Slender Man games and will have them possess people for most of the movie and the freddy's gang will only be in the first and last 5 minutes

10th: will be in space and ignored

11th: well have them fight the slenderman

12th: will be a shitty remake that summarize the first 3 games.

I'm sorry but the thought of this series being another Friday the 13th is funny to me.

I tolerated 1 because, when it came out, it really was a one-of-a-kind game, jump scares and OOGA BOOGA aside. I tolerated 2 because it wasn't a clobbered together mess like the first one was. I tolerated 3 because it was a continuation (and closure) of the story, and wasn't so hard on you like the second and wasn't as OOGA BOOGA.

I feel like if FNAF is a cash-in by the dev, at least they're not shallow cash-ins. They still have those creepy minigames and the hidden story on top of the same slightly changed gameplay. But holy crap, I don't know of any series that has four installments of itself within slightly over a year after the first game came out.

At least, with this game, it isn't mashed together in the space of around two months. Six months of development time, I don't think I'll ever say this again, is going to help this along so much better.

I'm surprised that the release date is that far away. I thought most of the games released within a few months within each other.

But...but...The Game Theorists channel just finished up wrapping his theory about this whole series up. Or at least he will next Saturday, he said. This is going to throw another wrench into his whole plan.

Which I'm fine with, because I love that channel. I've never played a single one of these games, but man, listening to Matt talk about them and lay out how he thinks the story works is a lot of fun.

Can we just stay for a moment still and appreciate that Freddy have small mini heads of himself attach to his body?
Well, it seems now Freddy's new name is LEGION!!!!!!

Not sure how to build a game around it though. It was a one day event.
