I'll be a bit hard on you now, even though you don't really deserve it.

You're guilty of the same thing the guys who say this are guilty of. They're presented this fake image and they latch on to it, becoming unthinking sheep and limiting their options. You join in and feel bad cause you too buy onto this image as they have. Just...just reduce your number of fucks given about what "people" say and you'll feel better I think. :p

These guys think of their partners as status symbols and the women think of their looks and features as business tools. It sucks, it's a dumb system and people should just refuse to be part of it. The only people benefiting are the fashion and makeup industries.

That's definitely not the "perfect" woman in my view at all, that's a woman who is too obsessed over her perceived looks that will look in shambles in the morning and will be so obsessed with her makeup and clothing that it will consume the rest of the aspects of her life until she becomes a pretty husk of a person. Not quite "perfect" at all. :p
I do realize that I'm just as bad as them for believing that crap. I realize it's wrong and I shouldn't care. But this is a lot harder to up-root than you might think. It has been ingrained into our way of thinking and while I have been working on it (I care a lot less about what others think of me now than I did a few years ago, for instance) there's still that nagging voice in the back of my head. I hardly ever listen to it anymore but I think it will always be there. It's like a form of brainwash. I know I shouldn't think that way and it's unsettling that I still do every once and a while even though I know it's not right. It's kinda hard to explain what I'm trying to say so I hope I didn't confuse anyone.

I am a girl but I have two questions for those of you who have been replying.

1. Those of you who say you like the natural "no make-up" look, do you really mean no make- up at all? Or do you mean subtle make-up? Most everyday looks I've seen are specifically intended to look like the girl is not wearing make-up when she actually is.

2. Something that hasn't been mentioned yet and I am kind of curious about is scars. How do you feel about a woman that has scars or stretch marks or the like? It may not exactly be a preference for most but I am curious if it is actually a turn off instead.

And I guess I'll give my opinion since I'm here. I've always liked long, black, straight, Asian hair. Maybe that's because I'm jealous (I have mousy, brown, curly/frizzy hair) but I think it's just gorgeous.
Didn't see this as I skimmed through the first time.

1. I prefer minimal make-up. Most women really don't match it to their complexion types, so it can look a bit "clownish" sometimes.

2. Scars I'm completely fine with. Stretch marks, not so much.

Right, I get what you mean. Even though you know it's BS you still kinda feel like it's true somewhere deep inside. It is kinda like brainwashing.

Well, it's good we talk about it here then cause that helps you be rid of it! :D

Red or dark colored hair, extremely limited or preferably no piercings (a rarity, sadly).

Really no preference for height at or above me, they can a bit shorter, as tall, or taller, but the minimum height would probably be 5ft. Anything lower would look ridiculous in comparison.

Healthy skin definitely, I do prefer lighter skin tones, ones that can look non-bedraggled without make-up, and at least no tattoos on their face. If there's a tattoo on your face, nah brah. Don't like the over-body tattoos either. Just keep it to a minimum on the body art.

I am more of an ass man. Firm looking is good. Breasts a c-cup hopefully, or... a b+ if that's a thing. Not into the stonking great tits, and am confused why people are.

I do enjoy the bit of chubby rather than skeletor-like body compositions. Just... be the right height for what you weigh. I don't like worrying :( Unhealthy bodies on either end of the spectrum are reasons to worry.

Oh, and no eyepatches. No pirates.

Everything else deemed inconsequential. I'm thinking the stereotypical lasses O' Ireland are the right fit for me.

Yeah, I started reading this thread thinking I'd know exactly the type of response most guys would contribute... And I was quite surprised at the amount of diversity in responses. And it kinda opened my eyes to exactly how much my environment has influenced me.

And gave me a bit of a self-confidence boost. So, go Escapist community!

I knew an Irish lass once, while she was here in the states for school. By the Gods, her accent made me melt every time she spoke.

For me, pale skin. Not ghostly, but pale. I really just don't get what's so attractive about being tan. I don't care which hair color/style, as long as she wears it well, though I do prefer longer hair. A good smile. Height doesn't matter to me, but preferably between 4'10" and 5'8". Cup size isn't super important either (ideally, though, B or C).

Something that I really like is when a girl, er, "dresses down." Is that the phrase? [small]I'm not super sure...[/small] To elaborate: the 'just got out of bed' look. Hair might not be perfect, large shirts, baggy pants, etc. I dunno why, but that's a really attractive look to me.

Having an attractive face i think for me is most important- after all it's what you spend most of your time looking at. That is closely followed by a healthy body weight- not too thin and not too fat. Excessive make-up's a turn off as well, i prefer it either subtly done or none at all.

Having nice legs, ass or breasts are certainly a bonus, but far from necessary for getting my attention- and if a girl shows them off too much then i tend to quickly lose any romantic interest because it sends out the wrong messages to me. By all means girls should display their "assets", just do so appropriately and leave something for the imagination! (Wearing leggings like trousers comes to mind)

Yeah. Accents are an attractive feature that can entice me to forgo many of those preferences. If I was there with you, I'd just have to go to bed after talking to her.

I am surprised you seem surprised lol, I've never seen a time or place where what men and women wanted wasn't varied as all hell. Granted you do tend to have people with agendas grabbing hold and force feeding others their crap.

As a man I know there is NOT a standard of beauty all men believe in. For every "Oh a girl needs to be stick thin!" there is a man thinking she needs to eat a sandwich. For every "FUCK YEAH LOVE ME THOSE BIG TITTIES" there are those who simply love themselves some cupcakes. For every lover of blondes you have your brunette lovers. I could go on but I think you already got my point thanks to others lol. Don't let your town or anyone tell you that there is some standard of beauty.

While I'm not terribly picky I suppose the ideal would be a medium-height, leggy woman with a nice bum and deep red hair. I'm so original, I know.

Captcha: DO UNTO OTHERS

Guess it's time to tone the back-end and dye my hair.

I really don't look for specific external thing's in women, I find myself attracted to many different thing's.

But if I had to choose a few particular thing's I'd say a bob cut hair, not so much large breasts more well shaped breasts of any size, at least in average physical shape, healthy if you would.

Clean, umm, not too angry looking, and uh, nice... smile? I'm really not picky, I mean sure there are some women I find unattractive but that's almost always due to them being total bitches, and has nothing to do with whether or not they look a specific way, there's a ton of features that when combined create a woman who is nice to look at, at least as far as I'm concerned... So yeah, I don't think I can add much relevant information here.

Thing is, I lived in a college town until a few months ago (only moved an hour away), so I've met many different women from just about every ethnicity imaginable. And while I've found their accents equally sexy, it's the Irish one that seems to really get to me, now that I've been reflecting a bit.

I may have to go Google some videos...

Ehhh women?

Prefer them to be shorter than me, not overly fond of blondes but I wouldn't say no. Otherwise I'm not terribly picky.

I find fat people inherently unattractive, not those that a re little overweight or chubby, i mean the people who just cannot put down the god damn burger and do some exercise.

As a bisexual male I tend towards men though.

I prefer both plus size and slim women with maybe a nice natural tan. Dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings are also a turn on for me.

Oh, and gingers too.

Redheads are sexy. I thought this to be nearly universal knowledge. o_O
Don't get me wrong, I agree, But considering how much shit gingers get just for being ginger, it's a surprise to see so many people openly admitting they like them.

True, I suppose.
