Okay, so I see some of you out there. I hear, every rare once in a while, somebody mention Quest For Glory. It appears as though you are not alone. Quest for Glory is perhaps my favourite game series of all time, especially after finally playing through QFG5.
So, a few questions for us QFG geeks to discuss in fanboy (or girl) delight...
1) Which character class do you favour the most? (Yes, I'm sure we've all played through as all classes, but which one do you enjoy more than the others?)
2) Which is your favourite game in the series?
3) What's your favourite town in the series?
4) Favourite character(s)?
5) Favourite moment(s)?
As for my answers...
1) For the most part, I play through as a thief character, and follow the thief's storyline. However, I like to round him out (through ceaseless grinding) so that he can be a good fighter and magic user, as well. I guess I'm just an indecisive prick...
2) This is the toughest answer of all, because every game has its awesomeness, and either their flaws, or at least aspects that aren't as awesome. The first game was amazing, especially the original version of it (I didn't quite get the same thrill out of the remake). Trial By Fire was cool because of its Arabian Nights theme. Wages of War truly felt the most expansive and open-ended. Shadows of Darkness was the most morbid, which is a huge plus in my books. And Dragon Fire was awesome in how much it tied together so much of all the previous games.
Favourite, though? I'd say it's a toss-up between Wages of War and Dragon Fire. I felt like Dragon Fire had the greatest sense of urgency, but Wages of War had the best and most balanced mix between humour and seriousness. And also...
3) ... I think my favourite town in the entire game is the city of Tarna. It was the most beautiful, it felt the most atmospheric to me, and really came across to me, more than any other game, that I (my character) was in a land that was truly foreign.
4) Naturally, most answers to this question will go to one of the various comic relief characters throughout the game. I'd have to say mine would be Punny Bones, from Shadows of Darkness.
5) In Wages of War, when you and your four allies come together and fight the demon mirrors. So cool...
So... discuss...
