Forget UFC I want USF

So I was channel surfing tonight and managed to hit both a sword fight and a UFC fight at the same time and it got me thinking... why hasn't anyone done this yet?

Personally I don't really like UFC I think it's a bit of a mugs game, especially when compared to boxing (not the super heavy weights, those are dull, the bantam/welterweight boxers are much more interesting), simply because of it's lack of rules (sport is by definition not realistic, it's about who wins using a pre-agreed set of rules).

However why hasn't there been a sword fighting version of UFC? Oh I don't mean with live blades, that would be crazy (in a bad way), but could you imagine actual sword masters of various disciplines fighting each other? That would be so cool; and no-where near as dull as fencing (honestly it's the opposite of UFC, it's rules are too ridged to enjoy).

I'd watch Ultimate Sword Fighting, how about you?

I would watch if you took all the stuck up millionaries that "play" sports and made them into the (Insert Country Here) Gladitor Arena Team(s)

Yeah you think you good playing (insert sport) lets see if you can kill another man...a sport where the winner....gets paid what he was worth....life

I don't know if the different disciplines could decide on a set of rules. You would probably end up using wood or dull metal swords, right? What if my school of swordsmanship was to catch the other person's blade with a gloved hand and then beat him with a short stick? Is that allowed?

That would be epic, though UFC only has so many rules due to the serious risk of injury, i mean its almost guaranteed.
