When was the last time you forgot to save? How much did it suck?

For me it was today I was playing Dark Crusade and the game crashed on me. I just captured two enemy cities, and a couple territories. It sucked a lot and I just don't want to do it again.

I lost somewhere between 60 and 80 minutes of gameplay in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness a few years ago because I forgot to save. I have always made sure to save, quick-save, or auto-save since. However, this didn't prevent a major corruption of data that killed about 200 - 250 hours of NHL 10 in January. Pissed me off...

Never, really.

I'm a compulsive saver. I save before every fight in Dragon Age/Fallout/etc. And at every save point in JRPGs. And in Pokemon, after every visit to a Pokemon Center.

I once lost about 2 hours to a power outage during the final boss of Wild ARMs 3, though.

When playing Persona 3, I was grinding for around two hours, ran into The Reaper, and then had to start all over again.

I am so afriad of that that I save all of the time in video games for that reason I almost have a compulsive need to hit the quick-save button on videogames. I had somewhere around 200-300 saves in my Mass Effect file and I don't even think that's the most I've ever had.

You have my sympathies. It's happened to me quite a few times (a fortnight ago to be exact)...and whenever it does, I hate myself for it because I had the chance to save but skipped out on it.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--

Hate when this happens. Most recent time I forgot to save was in FFVII after I'd raced my Wonderful Chocobo up to S class and bred it in hopes of getting a gold chocobo. Didn't happen. Reset disk. Suddenly I'm back at the start of Disc 3.

Worst case ever though was in DA:O. Struggle on Nightmare difficulty to beat a boss. Finally beat it. Talk to about twenty different characters to get all your quest rewards. Buy a whole lot of new equipment. Open map. Go to campsite. Continue romance. Talk to all characters. Give gifts. Rest to heal injuries. Open map. Go to Denerim. Hit random encounter on the road. Get wiped out. Realise the game didn't auto-save so you have to go back to three hours ago and beat that boss all over again. SWEAR AT HEAVENS.

I hate it when I do this. It always happens when I get really into a game, then I forget to save.

The worst is Fallout, where I have had to train myself to save every 15 minutes. The game crashes so much, if you forget, it really, really sucks.
